(OT) NFL Playoffs

In the mud

I am a huge Green Bay fan. But unless there is 6 inches of mud or snow I think the Falcons will win a close one.
The Packers are just too beat up.

If what I expect happens- I will root for Cleveland.

Woof! Woof!

As a Browns fan, there is no doubt who I'm cheering
for, but all I can add as a thank you is:

J! E! T! S! Jets! Jets! Jets!

So nice of the Jets to get the Browns into the
playoffs. Although, then again, if Dwayne Rudd
hadn't have thrown his helmet, they wouldn't
have needed that help. I really thought that
helmet toss was going to keep them out of the
playoffs.

As for Pittsburgh, which of their teams is going to
show up? I hope the mistake-filled one that gets
booed at home... :)

Go Browns!!!!

Say what you will about any of the teams that are in right now, but here's how things have looked over the last 2-4 weeks...

NFC

I admit some bias here, but if you take away the 3 Barber fumbles and the refs making 2 bogus calls on TD's, they beat the Eagles hands down and the game isn't even that close. They clearly outplayed Philly. I'm not complaining about the 2 TD's being called back because the Giants got 2 breaks (1 from Akers missing a FG and one on the OT interception as there was Giants holding on the play) to even it out.

If the Eagles do not have McNabb healthy they can make it to, but will not win, the Super Bowl. The Giants are the hottest team right now (see their thrashing of Indy 2 weeks ago). They will be underdogs on the road against the Niners but they already shut down Owens once this season the San Fran's defense hasn't been there all year.

Green Bay needed home field. They don't have it but should still beat Vick and Atlana for round one. They should be going home after that unless Driver is healthy. Tampa needs Brad Johnson just as badly as Philly needs McNabb. Without him they could make it to the Conference finals, but you need some offense to make it to the Super Bowl.

All things said (I am a Giants fan so I hate to admit it), the team to beat is Philly: Home field, solid D and great coach.

AFC

The crazy, crazy AFC. I'm gonna do this shotgun style since I am more of an NFC guy.
  • The hot teams: Jets and Titans.
  • Jets over Indy unless Indy can get some turnovers and find a running game.
  • Steelers/Browns - I have no idea as have only seen a few games of each team this year.
  • Everyone seems to like the Raiders with Gannon and company. They will be the favorites at home but I can see them getting knocked off by a team like the Jets. Also, if the Titans get George and Kerse heathly they will go far.
  • Since I think there is no team like Philly in the AFC I'll go with history and say the road to the Super Bowl goes through Oakland because of home field, veterans and a solid overall team on both sides of the ball.
Super Bowl

I dare not make Super Bowl predictions because I will be cheering for the G-men to go all the way.... :D

EDIT: Did anyone else find it funny to hear the Jets fans chanting: P-A-T-S, Pats Pats Pats!! ;) It would be great to see and all-NY Super Bowl....

can't say I care. The Saints only had to win one game against three of the weakest team in the last three week and they couldn't do it. I know the QB was out but still!!!

Jets VS Giants in the Superbowl, with two OT's and the game decided by a coin flip.... Jets win by calling heads

Seriously, right now the teams to watch out for are the Jets, Giants, and Titans everyone else is squeaking by it seems. The Raiders absolutely had to have a bye week, they are so beat up that the EnWorld Posters could give them a good game this week. The Eagles backed into home field advantage, if McNabb is rusty this could be a very short playoff run for them. I Liketyhe Browns chances at Pittsburgh which would give us the best game of the playoffs, Jets VS Titans. The winner of that game is going to the Superbowl no matter who wins Cleveland/Raiders. If it's Cleveland, then the Jets or Titans get the AFC championship at home. In the NFC, I expectthe NFC champiuonship to be Giants/ Packers. Giants have a shot, but only a small one, it will depend on the weather in Green Bay and how mnuch the Giants want it. realistically I expect ab rematch of week 17 in San Diego Jets vs Packers, with the same results in beautiful sunny San Diego.

Yeah, the Raiders vs ENWorld...

Let's look at these "hot" teams. Raiders win 7 of 8, only loss in Miami (where Miami is actually a good team), and they lose by 6 with Clarence Love and Terrance Shaw as starting corners. With the bye week both those guys go to the bench, Raider D tightens up, and the Raiders whale the tar out of any offense in the AFC. Not to mention the 400+ yards rushing in the last TWO WEEKS! Raiders are hot, and even better, they're good.

Did anyone see that mighty Titans team vs the Texans. Not scary. SHould have enough to get to Oakland and die.

Anyone remember the Jets vs the Bears? The Bears?!?! Has anyone watched the Bears this year? I mean without losing their lunch?

Nice to see all the Raider fans on ENWorld...
