[OT] One for the cartoon afficionados...

PenguinKing

First Post
Okay, here's the drill. A friend of mine is claiming that he once saw an animated sequel to Disney's Pinnochio. Not the recent live-action one - this was animated, and apparently was around in the late 80s, if not earlier. He says it featured as villain a Joker-esque demon-clown who ran a haunted circus, and as the grand finale to the big show, turned the attendees into marionettes. He could even repeat a bit of one of the songs - the chorus went something like this:

Singing, dancing
Such romancing
No beginners
You were born a winner
Got to know you
We're all below you
You're a star, star, star
You're a star!

(sung by the demon-clown to lure its victims, apparently.)

Here's the catch - try as I might, nowhere can I find any referrence either to those lyrics, or to the movie itself. I can find no indication that this movie even exists.

So I appeal to those more knowledgeable than myself - is there or has there ever been such a movie, or is my friend full of it? ;)

I'm no toon expert but I can remember having seen something like that. Think it was on a german channel. Syncronised. The syncronisation makes a lot of things hillarious on german tv :D.

It looks like we have a hit. Many thanks. :D

(I tried IMDB myself earlier and got nothing, tho' - what the hell was your search-string? O_o; )

Well, Frank Welker was in it. Shoulda known.

Doing an animal voice, I'd bet.

Honestly, saying 'Frank Welker was in' a piece of American animation is kinda like saying that Lucas was involved with a Star Wars movie. :)

That guy is EVERYWHERE.

I just searched for Pinocchio

I just searched for Pinocchio and then tried to match up dates. ( you said it was around in the 80's)

I have been told I have a knack for finding things on the net.

Thanx

There's two 'c's and one 'n' in 'Pinocchio', PenguinKing. That was your search problem. Next time try google after failing with imdb; google suggested the correct spelling when given your incorrect spelling.
