(OT) Pizza delivery questions

Question No. 1: Does Dominoe's where you live accept checks to pay for deliveries?

As of Jan. 1, our Dominoe's no longer will take a check. WTF? They expect people to always have enough cash around to pay for pizza? Or they except us to run to the ATM before ordering? If I can go to the ATM, I'll just go to a drive-through and get better food.

Question No. 2: Do you tip the pizza delivery person?

I always tip, even if it's just a dollar. And they always act surprised to get a tip. Some have even commented on it, thanking me for the tip, celebrating, doing a little victory dance, whatever. So I get the impression that, where I live at least, very few people tip the pizza delivery person.

1. Yep. Cheques, credit cards, debit cards. I always pay cash, though.

2. Not unless it's Christmas or something. Different culture. :)

1) Not that I'm aware of, but I've been told Australia is much less Cheque intensive than the US. I've always had the cash laying around for pizza if I want it anyway.

2) Nope. Again, different culture.

1)nope. Cheques are very passé in the Netherlands.

2)Yes I do. I lived in the states long enough to tip, especially when the weather is nasty (like it usually is when I order Piza).

When I moved to the US, I was shocked at how much Americans use checks. In Canada, checks are pretty much antiquitated to paying rent and mailing back money for bills.

I usually pay cash, or credit for food. And I always tip delivery carriers.

Personally, I always order from Papa John's anyway. Their pizzas aren't nearly as greasy, taste better, and come with free garlic butter, which tastes divine on a pizza. It was really a no-brainer...and my mother forbade us from ordering from Domino's in her house when she found out they supported pro-life organizations, so that was that. :)

On the tipping thing...I usually let them keep the change when I pay them.

Well I get pizza from Pizza Hut and always use my debit card and always tip.

As for checks, I use two a month. One for rent, one for electronic check thingy for electricity. For some reason SRP (Salt River Project) does not accept debit/credit cards yet, but will let you do electronic checks.

Well I've never ordered from Domino's, but I have never seen any place accept check for delivery. It's either cash or credit card. Then again I've never been big on using acctual checks. It's why I have a debit card. ;)

As for tipping... I always do. A little something. Whatever I can spare. Hell even when I was unemployed and would scrape together the money I always made sure to have a buck or two more for tip, but I've always been like that.

Jeez...

I hope anyone who said "I tip" and "I use a Debit Card" knows how annoying that is.

I never order any delivery without cash in hand.

Checks are antiquated. Maybe they are moreso outside the US, or less so outside my area.

Well which is more annoying? No tip at all or a tip on debit card? Cause I don't carry cash.
