I don't remember the context exactly, but I recently had the occasion to remark that my friend's jacket offered him a +1 to AC. Also, there's a D&D trailer park on the side of a local highway.

When my friends and I go hiking, we often make comments about each other's Spot modifiers...

I actually did a paper on this sort of thing (gamer lingo). You can see it at http://webpages.charter.net/woodelph/Gaming/writing.html --first link on the page. [sorry about the look of the website--i no longer have acces to that account, so it hasn't been updated in quite a while, but i also can't delete it, and haven't gotten aron]d to putting up a new site.]

Found out some stuff i hadn't heard before, and the professor thought it was well-written.

Whenever one of my friends would be clumsy and trip or something equally non-dextrous, one of us would remark that that person had "failed his Dex check".

Another thing...everytime I hear someone on the news talk about the soldiers armed with their RPGs, I just imagine a bunch of guys in uniform whacking their opponents over the head with the Players Handbook....

Um, what's an RPG that a soldier would be armed with? I'm unfamiliar with that acronym being used for a real-life weapon.

Yep. Almost everything here I can say I've done. Calling everything crit failures. Anything good must be a Natural 20. My friends and I refer to each others skills. Can't think of any more, but I have done almost everything on this list. (Though a 'nat 20' in bed is a bit odd....)

OOOH! Thought of one: there's a band called 'Ten Foot Pole' that always makes me think I should be checking for traps...
