This has to be the longest-lived off-topic poll I've ever seen.

You can always choose what song you listen to on your CD player, but when a song comes on the radio that you didn't know you wanted to hear, its even better :)

I agree completely. Heard "Don't Fear the Reaper" on my way home today, and didn't realize I was in the mood for it. Same way when I heard "I Want to be Loved Like That" the other day; a song I love, but haven't thought of in a while.

Aww, c'mon! Skaterboy, Losing Grip, I'm With You. That's some good stuff. Oh well, to each their own. ;)

wow, an OT poll that's been open for more than 2 days? i'm definitely in on this. :D

it depends on my mood. sometimes a song will come on the radio and i say "aw, not this again" or "i like it but don't want to hear it now." but then, there are the gems of the radio... songs you don't hear too much and they're always a treat to hear - it's always a pleasant surprise to catch it!

however, listening to a CD rarely offers a suprirse if you've heard it before, since you know what you're getting. and you don't have to listen to a song you don't want to hear because you can skip to the next one!

i'd go with hearing a song you like on the radio being better, for the element of a pleasant surprise. :)

Music on the radio just sounds different, its not psychological, its the compression, as mentioned above.

Sorry, but off-topic polls are not allowed on the boards.

For the record, the answer is 42.
