(ot) What we have to complain about

This thread is just to complain about something. Preferably something that isn't a big deal in the grand scheme, yet still disappointed you or somehow made your life less good...

My complaint: I can't find a copy of "Rashomon" with english subtitles. Every single copy in Hong Kong has only Chinese subtitles.

Also, I went to the book store to get them to order Jack Vance's "Tales of the Dying Earth". I had bought other books from the same Fantasy Masterworks series, released by Gollancz publishing. Unfortunately, the book store that carried these has apparently severed the relationship with Gollancz, so no Jack Vance for me to read.

Finally, there is only one gaming store in Hong Kong, and it isn't that great. Apparently they even stopped carrying Dragon.

Well, I'm going home from college for Christmas, and since I have no car, I have to decide between flying early for $200, or waiting an extra week and getting a ride with a friend for free. I really want to see my girlfriend back home, and it'd be the difference between 2 weeks and 3 weeks. Seeing as my monthly income is about $500, saving $200 could be really useful, though. Gah!

I kinda screwed up the ending to the 'finale' of my D&D game by having to rush the ending (this happens when you're trying to schedule around 5 college students), so now I'm having to convince everyone to play in an 'epilogue' game so I can give us proper closure.

I suppose neither of these is too horrible, but they are kinda annoying.

Angel season 3 on DVD isn´t out until 2003 03 12

Buffy season 6 on DVD isn´t out until 2003 04 16

And I haven´t seen any of these seasons yet.

Players that bitch to each other but not to me.

My GF who plays in my game comes to me a says everyone is complaining the the adventure is moving to slow. Then I hold a group high points/low points so that they can all tell me what the like and dislike about the game in an attempt to make the game better for everyone. I get some high points and a general everything is going okay.

I even went so far as to question some players individually and bring up what Mary said. I still got back, good game. Some of them said I don't know what she's talking about. Though one of them explained that he felt the mystery aspect frustrating but felt that it moved at a good pace for a mystery.

Argh.

i somehow keep hiting my head against hard objects. i can't seem to stop.

my wife has adopted "christmas cthulu" as our surrogate child. she tells me he keeps wanting to eat our other stuffed animals so we have to keep him separate until he learns the rules of the house.

I had a long conversation yesterday with the manager of super salad (we'd baked two sweet potato pies for him and his crew), he finnally got around to asking us what we do to make money. We told him we're writing, starting up a role-playing publishing company, "Dungeons and Dragons" i said. He looked at us and said, "You guys look so normal for that."

I tore my shoulder muscles and am bleeding internally because of it. The bleeding swelled up my shoulder and irritated the surrounding muscles. Those muscles knotted and cramped, pulling every muscle on the left side from the base of the skull to the lower back. My wife is helping me get dressed, out of bed, shower, etc...

In the grand scheme of things, it is pretty minor but I'm having to cancel my games for now
