[OT] What's your favorite song(non-gaming)?

Eh I liked those albums (Load more than Reload mind you), but you're right, they did need to lose some of that blue influence. They are more about POWER and thrash. I will admit though I'll miss Jason. I doubt they could have found a better replacement after Cliff died. Still there's hope when they do the Summer Sanaturim Tour.

I'd give anything if that tour was coming closer to here.

And yea, Jason was awesome. I hope they do a good job on his replacement.

I liked Load and Reload too, but they don't compare to the Black Album or Master of Puppets or err... all of their oldies.

I still can't listen to One without getting chills. :D My wife loved the song until she saw the video and it really hit her what it was about. Now she can't listen to it because it depresses her.

LOL! :) I love One and it rarely depresses me. Just really give me an emotional rollcoaster. Highs and lows. Great song. But yeah pre-Black album, really great stuff was around. Hopefully St. Anger will do the same. (Though I think S&M has some good stuff too. I get chills listening to No Leaf Clover every single time I hear it.)

S&M is a classic...

I was excited about Summer Sanitarium 2003...

Until I saw that Limp Bizkit is playing. I refuse to go to a Limp Bizkit concert.

Wow, the metal heads have really hijacked this thread. Rock.

Eh not like you HAVE to go watch them. My choice, (if this works out) wait until Mudvayne joins up. THAT will be sweet. In any case we'll just have to see how that works out. I do hope they add more dates and get some near me. I missed the last Summer Sanitarium tour, much to my chargin.

Limp Bizkit's first album was somewhat tolerable, but right now they just sound like Britney Spears with swear words.

It takes more than cussing and singing about how great a band you are to impress me.

That's Kid Rock's problem too. When he doesn't sing about himself he's quite the talented musician.

There's just something silly, egotistical, and ultimately circular about singing about how great you are.

Furthermore, I have the same problem with Bizkit that I do with all modern music: it's either dance music, about getting laid, money, or emotion. There's no substance to what is sung about. Compare this to storytelling songs, my favorite, in which there is something that the lyrics are actually about.

Finally, the greatest problem I have with modern music and "new metal:" no melody. There are next to no lead guitars or solos. Everything sounds like rhythym guitars. I dislike what the Seattle years did to rock and I dislike hip hop even more. Give me melody or give me death.

Agreed...

Of all the "new rock/metal" that has come out, the only ones I really like is Korn (Issues mainly) and Godsmack.

Really looking forward to Godsmack's new one. If they where part of the Summer Sanitarium tour, I would sell vital parts of my anatomy to go. :p
