I'm 41 (already?), an english chap with a lovely wife of 4 years, a 2 year old daughter and another child expected just before Christmas

Started playing D&D back in 1975 - couldn't afford to purchase the white-box rules, so I made up some rules for my friends and I to play the game by. Been making up rules ever since (most extensively for my sci-fi RPG which I was just getting ready to publish when the internet "happened". Outside work and RPG's my greatest involvement is with the Church. I'm a member of the leadership team of my local congregation and I love preaching/teaching more than any other activity. I spent 5 years helping to take Christian aid to refugees in Serbia and still have many friends living there.

ENworld is, to my mind, the best online community which I've come across, and I count it a real privilege to have been able to met some of the people here in real life as well as online. Three cheers to Eric for starting it and Morrus for ensuring its continuation.

I lived in Lubbock from 1993-1997. Lubbock is mostly bad memories for me, but they do have some good restaurants. Like the chili cheeseburger joints, and all the other mom 'n pop burger and burrito shops.

I was once in a long distance relationship with someone going to Texas Tech... then I went and screwed it up. So I guess I have good memories with a bad outcome.

(and if this happens to be her, I'm going to freak out and ram my head against the wall repeatedly, but she'd probably recognize my pseudonym)

LOL! I'd join in if I knew the words. I can sing, but I prefer to play the bass.

I used to play music and sing all the time and now I only find the time every so often. I miss being in the band I was in about 5 years ago. We even cut an EP. All forms of music rule. I even do karaoke sometimes. I can do a mean Bobby Darren.

I try to play as many games, be it RPGs, board games, card games, outdoor/indoor sports or videogames as I can. Can't get enough of em. I am a former film snob who has finally learned to just hush up unless something is really terrible. I also watch a bit too much TV (sports and entertainment) and feel guilty every time I watch Survivor. Hey, we can all have guilty pleasures, right!?

Anywho, a bit more aboot me - Real name is Matt, I'm 26 or at least that's what my parents told me. I currently work at Sterling Memorial Library @ Yale University as a supervisor. I've lived in this area my whole life, even went to college locally and one day I will actually get a degree for all the money I spent Seriously.

I'm unmarried with no current significant other and no pets as any would probably drive me insane. Trying at the moment to balance a few RPG groups while getting ready for my work schedule to change. Oh, and if you must know I look nothing like my avatar. I'm 5'6", around 120 pounds and pale as a ghost with facial hair.

Regarding Slide Road restaurants in Lubbock, TX...remember that mongolian BBQ joint? How 'bout that Indian restaurant on the reverse side of a Slide Rd stripmall? For my money (not that I had any at all while I was living there), Ave Q or 34th had the best mom 'n pops.

Wow, it's really good for me to remember some fun things about Lubbock. Thanks. You have no idea how healing this is.

I thought it was pretty cool when i learned that there was a group of people living of the coast of sweden or some other place that could naturally read/speak Old English that anchient old language. i also think it is pretty amusing that though old english is the founder of most of the english language, that teh majority of the english language comes from old french.

Not at the coast, but in the inland there is a place were people speak almost like they did in the Viking era. It was probably one of the places were they still sacrificed to Frey in the 19th century ^^

Other Swedes dont understand what they say, though. On Iceland though, their language hasnt changed a bit since about 1000 AD or so. They could pick up a book from that age and read it as easily as they read a newspaper; thats pretty cool IMO

Electrical Engineer by trade, with a masters. More of a programmer these days. I work on systems on carriers that guide incoming aircraft to the deck. I travel to various carriers a bit.

Been playing for 22 years now. Other than gaming, I usually spend time with my family, hitting museums, zoos, and other sites of historical or scientific interest.

That's not exactly correct. Much of English vocabulary came from French, which is why we have so many synonyms. We have both an Anglo-Saxon word and a French word. Pilgrimage/Journey, for example. But the structure of modern English still shows its' Germanic roots, if you know where to look.

High School History Teacher....

hey hey hey! someone from my future profession!

I'm 18, single, and heading down to the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in just a few short weeks. I'll be majoring in history, with a minor in secondary education. I fully intend to do everything that I can possibly do to stay involved with theatre--mainly very far from main stage at U of I--and perhaps get a job at a high school that wouldn't mind a history teacher who can direct a school show or two.

I love D&D, and have been known to play a few other games on occaision as well. Food is tasty, reading is enjoyable--though I do far too little of it--and TV is an amusing diversion only in VERY small quantities. I like to talk to people online and surf the web--often simultaneously--much more than sitting motionless and slack-jawed in front of the "idiot box."

I dispise reality TV!

I love my friends and family. Hands down, they're the best thing in the world that I've got going for me. Especially my mom, she puts up with all of my crap for 18 years and gets "rewarded" with my leaving for college... poor lady Having my father pass away when I was 11 gives me some comprehension about how short and precious life is, but everyone still loses sight of that sometimes.

I learned to play D&D from my Grandma and some neighbors--not too many people can lay claim to that. She's an awesome lady. I love making people laugh, especially when they're down in the dumps. Drama is a ton of fun for me, and have been in several shows at my high school--"Noises Off", "The Dining Room", "Annie"--and I shaved my head for that one--, "The Curious Savage", and "Crazy for You." I also play the flute and piccolo, as well as enjoy singing.

What you've been waiting for....

Hey, I'm James. I'm 32, married for 7 years, and have two girls (Amy, who's 3-and-a-half, and Erin, who's 9 months). I live in the suburbs of Toronto, and would happily welcome Russ if he relocated to this vast country called Canada.

While I would love to say that I work at Fiery Dragon full-time, alas I cannot.

During the long hours of the day, I am involved in the home video industry, the so-called "bottom rung of the entertainment ladder". Started more than a decade ago as a video store clerk, ran my own stores in a retail environment, jumped to distribution, jumped further to a major studio's operations division, and now I'm working for a division of a major manufacturing company. We're busy pressing your Two Towers DVDs right now!

I may make a change soon. I've moved up considerably from my cube-dwelling days, but I do have a bit of a commute, and I've grown weary of spending 3 hours a day in the car when I should be spending that time with my wife and kids (and Arcana Unearthed!)

I like to talk, and when I don't know things I'll just make them up. I always answer questions, even if I don't have an answer. Some people would call these lies, but I don't do it maliciously; I just like to have fun!

That's essentially it. I like to joke and have a good time, but I'm something of a homebody who enjoys kicking back and spending time with the family.

Also, I write a D&D adventure from time to time and make Claudio tired with art chores.
