My lovely gamer wife is in her third week with Zona. The nerve pain is horrible. She had to take nerve-pain killer pills. It's difficult to watch it happen and not be able to do much about it other than take care of the house and prepare the meals.
We did the vaccination last year but you can still get it (20%). She is immunosuppressed because of polyarthritis, which complicates things. Because we acted quickly (48 hours) she was able to take a 14-day anti-infection pill treatment. The symptoms are going away slowly.
We are glad to live in a Canada, where medication is free.
