Got in last night after work despite the rain and cold.

Four sets of Smith inclined barbell bench with drop sets on the latter two, three sets of narrow grip lat pulldowns, drop setting on the latter two, and three sets of machine rear delt flies.

I've been thinking that the Smith barbell bench might be a better mainstay chest movement than dumbbell bench, in part because I can use the 2.5lb plates to get more granular advancement if I buckle down and focus more on progressive overload there.

100%

I'll occasionally go back to DBs for novelty or if the Smith machines are occupied, but I ran into this same stumbling block. Those 2.5 plates are such a difference-maker.

I’m adopting a slight change to my approach to sets and reps. The last several years, I’ve left a rep or two in the tank on the first set to go to failure at the same weight on my next set. I’d max out the range over the course of weeks before graduating to a heavier weight.

Now, I’m going for failure in each set, even if I have to lighten the load on the next set to stay in the same range. I figure if I’m doing lower volume, I really need to make the intensity on each set matter. We’ll see how it goes.

The thread on our comfort being naked in public got a lot of people suggesting they are in poor physical shape. There was an old thread where many folks talked about their exercise regimens. Rather than necromance that thread, I figured we should have a new one.

Do you have any fitness/exercise/workout regimen? How's it going?

In that old thread, Umbran mentioned training for a "Run for Your Lives" zombie run -- Umbran, did you ever do that? How'd it go? Fun?

Anyone else have fun workouts? Anyone do Crossfit? I'm somewhat curious about that.

10 mins of HIITs followed by floor work usually 10 sit ups, 10 leg lifts, 10 burpees, followed by 10 minutes shadow boxing on the bag then 10 miscellaneous weight works before a 10 minuet running session.

Plan for Monday, weight to go up, reps to go down.

Bench capping at 250, but I'm going to go for 8 reps on my sets.
Dips, 90.
Incline Bench, 200, this one probably will hurt, but if I drop down the reps, maybe its all ok.

Back stuff will be sprinkled throughout to further enable the higher weights.

Thats the plan anyway. I may get curious on the dumbbell incline again. I had stopped at 85s when I felt too much pressure near my eye, I'll have to see how it goes.

I've been going to the gym three times a day and getting ready to attempt my first 5k in December! I'm really nervous about it but I recently had to do some rigorous physical labor and was amazed that I didn't struggle like I used to! I've still got a long way to go exercise and weight loss-wise, but I can see progress!
