Our Physical Fitness

174.6 this morning. I'm not really doing the 'lean' days anymore. Keeping around 2K calories.

Upper was good, a bit tight still from Legs, but I cut those supplements and like magic my digestion improved.

I'm going to try and increase Dips next week, Bench is kind of just stuck, it is what it is. I may actually shift up the order of my exercises, I dont know.

Going to try and sleep better tonight, renos all weekend, and we will see whats up on Monday.

Have a great weekend boys.

174.4 seems I'm in some range of maintenance.

Slept in, Nyquil assisted, breakfast and have since put another layer on in terms of drywall repair. I'm about done and hope to wrap up sand/paint this weekend and thats going to count as my physical activity I think. /sad

Oh, and the sun is shining, so I'm going to plant some plants!

171.8 this morning; hadn't weighed since the 19th, when I was at 168.4. I've been eating pretty richly, and drinking some.

Since Tuesday the 24th I've just gotten in one workout, Friday night the 27th; the weekend was really busy but on the plus side I budgeted more time for sleep, after shorting myself a bit pretty much all last week and being tired a lot.

Friday evening the machines I wanted (Smith for inclined bench and the bicep curls machines) were mobbed, but for some reason multiple regular benches were open. So instead of smith barbell inclined bench, machine biceps curls, and seated dumbbell lateral raises I substituted flat dumbbell bench and seated inclined dumbbell curls, plus seated lateral raises.
  • Dumbbell flies 27.5x15 warm up.
  • Dumbbell bench 50x11, 50x10 +45x3, 50x8 +45x3. This is pretty much where I was when I was last doing these regularly, back in October. Not apples-to-apples with my current routine, but felt kind of nice doing the free weights.
  • Dumbbell inclined curls 30x10 +25x4, 30x6 +3R 2L, 30x4 +25x3R 2L. Pretty similar to a few months ago, but kind of a shocking drop off from set to set. I felt like I gave myself pretty solid rest periods between them. :/
  • Seated dumbbell lateral raises 20x12 +17.5x5, 20x12 +17.5x5, 20x12 +17.5x5. Compared to last time -4 reps & +1 drop set rep, steady, steady. Significant regression on set 1 but the same thereafter. I'm going to put this down to fatigue, and give myself some grace on the prior exercises.
The weekend was a bit better for sleep, so I'm going to try to capitalize on that and keep trying to be disciplined on bedtime this week. Hopefully I can have better energy and productivity in the mornings and it will help with the workouts.

I'll chime in. This past week I managed to get the stomach bug my son had the week prior. I'll spare you the gruesome details, but it was rough.

I've had a week off of training. My diet went from soup, crackers, and toast to pizza and donuts by the end of the week when I was feeling better. I truly am a 13 year old trapped in a middle aged body.

On the bright side, I've gone a week without smoking. It feels good. I'm at the office at the moment. My coworker typically goes on our "walk" in about 15 minutes. I'll be ducking out to do other stuff instead. Normally, this would be when in my mind I would be saying "well...it's just this once," but today I feel resolved. I don't know how long this will last, but I think enough time away will make the transition easier.

I'm going back to training tomorrow night (push day), but I'm not going to track anything. I'll just go light and ease back in.

Sounds like a good approach. IMO staying strong on the ciggies is a bigger deal than a bit of comfort food when you've been sick and weary. Though soup is one of my comfort foods when I'm sick- some nice Pho or Chinese Hot & Sour are among my favorite medicines. Steam and spice to clear out the ick.

I like the idea of going back light, too. When I was reading back through the thread to figure out how long it had been since I last did dumbbell bench, I also saw that deload week I did in December, where I was doing twice as many exercises in less time and having fun with it, because I wasn't pushing my limits on weight. I might do another session like that again soon, just for the fun of it.

173.8 weird as I ate I thought well yesterday.

Sleep was trash, weekend reno work was great, and then I had a 6am call, and I've got a guy arriving any moment to take away a bunch of garbage.

Upper/Legs/Arms is the schedule this week, I may cut it down to 3 days this week, I need to get this house done.

A little bit of our fights.

I was a backup until we had a fighter drop out and one get a helmet pierced! So I fought a ton more than I bargained for! I was upset there wasn’t more.

I’m very sore and beat. Have some broken armor to fix and maintain. Had to swap out a gauntlet mid fight, it must have gotten crushed somehow.

It was an amazing workout.

I was well hydrated for the event but didn’t drink enough water during, these fights are sich an adrenaline high it’s hard to know how bad or hurt g I am during them. After? My fingers were cramping.
