Out of Character Meeting

Hello everyone! I have a date set for the Out of Character Meeting. It will be Saturday August 16th from 12pm to 2pm site time and will be held in the ISRP_Lobby.

As requested by Fenmarel, I have compiled a list of things we'll discuss in this meeting. There will be an open floor discussion for any topic not covered. There are a few things to remember - The chat protocol will be in effect, so you'll type ? for Questions, ! for comments and /ga at the end so we'll know to proceed. Treat each other with respect. This will not be a shouting match or an insult hurling assembly. The main idea behind this is for one another to discuss the issues bothering you and to perhaps help smooth out issues or better see where everyone else is coming from.

The topics of this discussion are:

1. Combat Role-Play - Attacks: What to do, what not to do, Auto Hits, etc
2. Getting Involved in Storylines: Ways to get involved, what to do
3. Dealing with New Players - Often people will make comments about this “newbie” or that one. There have been discussions regarding how to deal with new players. What are some of the common problems people find when dealing with new players? How can we help fix things? What can people do as non-Wizos to help?
4. What the rooms are for
   - Emporium, CRT, Guildhall, Garden, Banquet Hall, Arena, Clearing, Limbo, etc
5. Where to go to help new players
6. Evil’s place in the ISRP Area
7. Good ideas for Characters (flaws, etc)
8. “Childish” characters
9. Character Description
10. Open discussion
    - This is where I will open the floor to anyone who wants to bring up their own discussion on things.

   I hope to see you there! Spread the word to those who don't access the boards, or to those who do. I'll be doing announcements during the next week to try and get people notified.

Thanks Kathryn. I'm hoping this might help everyone with getting along better, ease the building tension, etc. I'm looking forward to having this.

Looks like good timing. It's the equivalent of 4 or 5 am for me due to my strange sleeping hours, but I'll be sure to make it.

Good list of topics to plan for, should be a great meeting if all goes well.

May I add, or request another particular topic to possible discussion? I think with the newest additions or revisions to the CoC it would be advisable to talk about what exactly Wizo's will hand out warnings for since you folks don't seem to be giving many 'second chances' anymore. What patrons should expect to preceed these warnings, sort of 'warning' protocol etc,..

That's a good idea Ladyshade and I will certainly bring up the new CoC procedure for people to understand how it works. However, I cannot tell you exactly what items will be warnable and what won't. The CoC itself has not changed. It is the same CoC it's always been. The warning process has changed so that there is less chance for repeated problem users to keep coming back or causing troubles. Now, if you loose a name, you loose every single name associated with you. No more throw-away SNs to be able to pass the CoC.

I'll be sure to bring this up in the meeting.
