A suggestion has been made that permitting players more agency by giving them the ability to move their own icons on the map would be a Good and Noble Thing. We're testing whether maps done in Google Draw give players agency (big shiny word there) in moving their own icons and adding in shapes to indicate area of effect spells, and whether the grid for maps done in Google Draw are easier to read. Please go to this link with whatever sort of device you customarily use to access the IC to do your posting, and let me know the following:
https://docs.google.com/drawings/d/1A_0jSyaq54s2U_sBMOJW71oAvyGfpY0BFXUvZ-wvZw0/edit?usp=sharing
1. Whether you can move the icon of the brown spider on the bridge?
2. If you customarily access our IC via a mobile device, whether you can use your mobile device to access Google Draw and move the icon of the brown spider on the bridge?
3. If you are using the Google Draw via a mobile app, whether you can use the app to move the spider? (someone said their phone could access Google Draw, but they couldn't move the spider...but they hadn't downloaded the app)
4. Whether you can create AoE shapes for spells in Google Draw? (See, e.g., the 20' radius circle currently on the Google Draw test map)
5. How much time it takes you to access and manipulate Google Draw? (Basically, what's your user experience accessing and manipulating Google Draw...does it load fast or slow for you?)
6. Whether you are uncomfortable or comfortable with providing the DM and players ONLY in this game with your Google e-mail address. (For a variety of reasons, I insist on keeping my Google+ contact info from public eyes, but I've no problem giving it out to you lot. Are you comfortable giving me and the other players in this game your email address? There's no right answer here.)
Please note that we're not necessarily going to switch the mapping system. I'm just asking folks to help me test it out because I want more info about what's possible. Thanks!
