Well, we could always split the party!!

If we wanted CB to hate us :D

Kamael is not desperate to visit Sloobludop - can't remember specifically why we came here? He sees the good in people, like derindil and buppido, but is normally pretty cautious so would talk to Shushaar about escape routes and contingency plans if we proceeded..

I don't like to leave parts of the adventure unexplored, unless gotten accidentally in a high level area - just think of that lovingly crafted plot we would miss! So my vote is yes :)

Some times you have to use meta thinking over role play - a lot of the time only an insane character would willingly expose themselves to such unknown risks, a sane one would retire after one dungeon! (This adventure is a good one for not having that option! )

See, this is a problem. Essentially, out of three options available to us, we picked one and for no reason in particular other than we had to get away from Velkenvelve and go somewhere. I feel no real need to go here but I'm not willing to turn around and head back out into the wild caverns.

Just confirming what GE notes above about choosing Sloobludop because there were three exit routes out of Velkynvelve. And adding that the group mulled it over (and all of you would remember this), and decided on Sloopbludop because at an estimated eight days' walk it was closest and Shuushar said he knew the way kinda-sorta.

The survivability of the distance was a factor. Now we know that starvation is not a factor, we can travel further and that issue is solved.

I don't want to split the party, on principle.

From Solace's perspective:
- she doesn't speak the language
- it's a community of evil creatures (this is an inference on her part, and on mine, and makes presumptions about how alignment works, but whatever)
- we'd be going in unarmed.

If we needed access to a market, that's fine, but does anyone think this is ending in other than combat? Solace died (twice? three times) -- 0 hp -- the last time she was in that exact situation.

Unless there's something specific that is needed there, this can wait. Or, if combat is inevitable, the diplomatic and polite route is the way to go.

Shushaar doesn't seem evil, so Kamael has been working on the basis that the other kuo-toa are like Shushaar. Although a sample size of one is not a good basis for extrapolating the moral outlook of an entire race! :)

We need to reassess what we want/need to do now that we are away from Velkenvelve. I hope we can do that in the city as well as get information about where we are and how we can get to where we want to go. I strongly feel that putting more distance between the PCs and Velkenvelve is necessary. Backtracking just puts us under threat of running into the drow. Most of us won't speak the language anywhere we go and as far as we know, everyone down here is evil. Being unarmed is an inconvenience to most of us but there are hidden weapons, spells that don't require material components, and Brinn doesn't need weapons at all. Solace could even stay concealed and move along after (though that has its own set of problems/dangers). Being unarmed does not equal helplessness. And, yes, I think this will probably end in combat. This is an adventure; everything we end up doing is going to end up in combat.

As for Solace's near death experiences, that is solely the result of bad luck and placing yourself in danger. The first is going to happen from time to time and the second is unavoidable no matter what we do.

Good morning, all. I'm assessing where we're at with the decision whether to head to Sloopbludop under blindfold, or backtrack and go elsewhere. So far, I count two yes votes (head to Sloobludop/blindfold), and two no votes. There are strong well-stated opinions on both sides. We're missing a voter. lowkey13, I need you to sound off yes or no, please.

Being unarmed doesn't necessarily bother Kago at this point.. he still has his spells, and his focus is under his armor. As far as the seafood knows, he's just an orc with a hammer. Getting lost due to the blindfold doesn't really bother me[/me] him either; I think his Wanderer feature will help find the way out if it comes to it. It's getting attacked and not seeing it coming that is bothersome. If we can counter that somehow, Kago may be a bit more agreeable to the terms... especially since Raza is going.
