Ozzy has passed. Pour one out for the Prince of Darkness.

I can remember being a kid and seeing the video for Bark At the Moon. It was the perfect mixture of cool, kitsch, and scary at that age.

Black Sabbath is one of those bands that looms large over everything. Music, style, gaming. Just about all of us knew or were that heavy metal kid with a Sabbath shirt, poster, or patch and a battered bunch of gaming books and die.

Most of us aren't going to get a farewell concert before we go. Dude went out like the legend he is.

Will never forget the two times I saw Ozzy in concert. Once at Ozfest in SoCal in 2007 and the other at Ozfest Tokyo in 2013. That second one, I was 30 feet or so from the stage, and couldn't believe I watched him jump off speakers as he played. Dude knew how to put on a show (both Ozfest in general and his own sets). Can't believe he's gone.

I got to see him two or three times at Ozzfest in the 2000s, including with full Sabbath in, I think, 2004. Bill Ward and all. A great show and cherished concert memory now.
