I'm a bit confused. By watching the video, I thought that the 5e conversion was a new thing, but - looking at Paizo's site, it seems that the 5e version of Abomination Vaults actually came out last year (after many delays). So the new thing is the DDB version. Is this correct?

I think what held them up last year was the whole OGL Fiasco

Odd timing. I literally just bought the hardcover. Thinking of using it for a campaign next year. Not a perfect campaign, but has many strong parts. Excited that it will be available on Beyond.

Well, that's wild. I like how WotC keeps breaking down barriers with Beyond.
That’s one way of looking at it.

At the height of the OGL fiasco, I made a thread arguing that if WotC really wanted to gatekeep D&D they shouldn’t worry about trying to control all of 5e and thus pissing everyone off, but should instead use DDB to control anything associated with their D&D brand.

And then they started doing exactly that. Which is great for DDB subscribers, for WotC, and for the Chosen 3PP. Not so great for everyone else.

I would argue it’s not breaking down barriers, it’s creating a really big one.

Well, be that as it may...working with Paizo, MCDM, and Kobold Press in particular represents outreach to the companies most alienated by prior WotC shenanigans.

They really should have tried revising something like the d20 STL other than try to change the OGL, that combined with the recent Behond developments would have easily accomplished their goals without needing to step on any toes.

Erik Mona did say they had a rough plan to remaster PF2e further down the road and the shift from OGL to ORC made them push that timetable up. This caused delays on some projects they had in the works due to a lack of resources, so yeah I would agree this was probably what held up the work on finishing this.

OK, what other Paizo adventures have already been ported to 5e? Kingmaker?
The problem with Kingmaker is they would need to do a lot more work to make it viable to sell on DDB. To run Kingmaker in 5e currently you need to buy the PF2e version for all of the encounters and such, then use the 5e Bestiary they released to get the statblocks for the monsters and hazards. So basically they would need to go through a 630ish page PF2e book and make sure every reference to a mechanic for a monster, trap, or magic item is for 5e so the data entry wouldn't be just copy/pasting text from a 5e book. An example of text that is in the middle of an encounter description that would require some additional review and writing:

If the eye carving is broken (hardness 22, HP 80, BT
40), the Oculus of Abaddon cracks inside of Vordakai’s
eye socket.
