Pathfinder 1E Paizo being mysterious

Nothing!

:D

I posted that. Really. Somehow the board allowed me to. I meant no harm. I received friendly e-mail from Morrus, and the thread was moved, and I'm sure this mutant ability was removed from my account.

I can only assume Morrus' rationale is that once the announcement has been made, that will be what is newsworthy, till then they don't want it as a headline.

Well that's a good reason and it makes sense. Thanks for the explination!

Was Clark talking for Necromancer or for Paizo? Because Paizo has been waiting to see the GSL, while Necro has said they are going 4E

Clark was talking for both of them. Someone with better search-fu could find the thread...I think it was the one that takasi started when Paizo's website first went down.

At any rate, Clark said Paizo is "not anti-4E" and to illustrate that stance he stated that (paraphrasing) "Paizo and NG would be collaborating on a set of 4E books..."

Paizo is doing 4E.

We know this. Clark (Necro) said as much on this very forum. If, as someone mentioned above, Paizo stated they can't do both editions - then 4E seems to be it.

The sooner they announce the inevitable the sooner the bickering that's eroding our hobby ends.

I, for one, will welcome the end to this crapfest.

#1: Necromancer isn't Paizo. They are related, but they're not the same thing.

#2: Don't be a jerk.

#1: I know. I said as much as I know: Clark stated Necro was doing a set of 4E books with Paizo. Don't believe me? Find that thread and you'll find that quote. Then you can apologize, or not. Doesn't matter to me.

#2: For once, I'm not trying to be. Irony.

THere's a big difference between being "not anti-4E" and "definitely going 4E."

Complete speculation: Paizo has reached a deal with Wizards to reassume control of both Dragon and Dungeon magazine, the catch being that both--or perhaps a consolidation of the two, to reduce printing costs--as well as Pathfinder and other Paizo products, will serve as vehicles for Fourth Edition material.

I know the quote you are referring to. However, I'm pretty sure Clark was referring to the books that Necromancer will be producing in partnership with Paizo. Meaning that Paizo isn't anti 4e because otherwise they wouldn't be helping Necromancer go 4e.

This says nothing about whether Paizo would go 4e with their own products.

Clark of course can speak for himself if I'm wrong. But, at any rate, I don't think that quote by itself can be used to say Paizo is going 4e.

3e left a lot of people behind, who eventually (6 months to a year) finally gave in to the inevitable and switched. But at first, a hardcore 25% or so were saying "No way" to a new edition. Same thing that is happening now. Many of the same ways 3e attracted new players. I don't see how you can argue 3e attracted new players and didn't leave anyone behind while 4e will not attract new players and will leave people behind.

Yes, but your comparison falls short of the D20 event. People at that time wanted a whole new situation around D&D. Whatever call Wotc is answering this time is a lot thiner IMO.
