Pathfinder 1E Paizo no longer publishing Dungeon and Dragon

Mark,

That...and I can nap in the afternoon. (I start running my campaign around 5 pm anyway...)

It is huge, but it has the best offerings of plot hooks, ideas and non-standard and COOL magic stuff that makes the 224 overpriced Magic Item Compendium look dull. Trust me, I'm WAY happier buying this than I was with MIC.

But yeah, having Necromancer Games and Paizo together IS very cool. Malhavoc might yet occur...if Monte ever decides he wants back in. We'll see. But regardless, I'm happy with both guys.

This bites. Dragon and Dungeon are old friends. I've got copies of Dragon going way back. They're mostly boxed up, but I think it's back to the teens.

1.) Trust me, you might think it's good. But the vast majority cares enough to see what it means.

2.) Monte Cook, the guy who WROTE 3.0, knew and hoped that using Dragon was a good way to get people's attention. Same was true with 3.5. It helped and people carried on.

1.) I didn't say it was good, but it will be a lot more accessible for the world at large – you're lucky, you live in America.

2.) And not everyone who plays this game is an obsessive who reads every review/article on D&D etc, or even knows, or cares, who Monte Cook is.

And I know a lot of hard core D&D players from America (where I lived until 6 years ago) who detest Dragon/Dungeon and think it is extraneous, unbalanced, badly written crap, I don't agree with them, but that's the way a lot of gamers think.

Baby,

The world at large won't be well served by it since about 50% of the time, SOMETHING at WotC's website go wrong when they update it. So for half the people trying to use it, it won't work.

How is that any better than a magazine that might not get there?

Hard core gamers also detest D&D and stuff. But they aren't the gamers I want to hang with.

1.) Not in my experience.

2.) Won't get there – trust me, in a lot of countries it's an impossibility to get a subscription. Let's not be America-centric.

3.) Neither would I, but I was saying a lot of "D&D" players that I know (my American buddies) who have been playing the game since year dot, detest those magazines.

For years on the WotC site I have seen so many DM's hold nothing but contempt for those magazines (I love them).

:p

Then they have no right to DM in my book since the fact remains, their campaigns are just for them AND not for everyone.

In your experience...then must be more limited than I expect because I recall not more than 2 days ago, the D&D website looking completely fubarred. Yes that's right fubarred. Why? Because they tried to UPDATE it and it didn't take.

So that to me says WotC's web designers can't design crap.

Let's not assume…

I have been going on the WotC site and forums everyday at work (for years) and I haven't seen these problems you speak of. Sure, once in a while there is something wrong, but no more than anything else in life!

baby,

That's because you go when they expect you to go. The updates usually take place at midnight and last well until 5:00 am. Believe me that's not something people in the world want to deal with since some of them DO have time zones that are not pacific OR eastern.

Yes, I live in London (UK), and the downtime is between around 10:00am and 11:00 am (UK time), and it's no big deal, I just come to this site for an hour…
