Both use Paladin/Divine Crusader to great effect.

Build 1:

Race: Human
Class: Paladin 5/Knight 2/Divine Crusader 10
Feats: Serenity, Zen Combat, Zen Archery, other staples

Build 2:

Race: Human
Class: Paladin 5/Fighter 2/Divine Crusader 10
Feats: Dynamic Priest, Force of Personality, Divine Might, Divine Shield, other staples

Being a  the answer is neither, it can't run through devils with a lance.

Seriously, what are you trying to accomplish (only being slightly <)?
One seems more defensive in nature than the other (don't use knight, crusader, or the complete books) so option 2 is a bad attacker and option 1 is a bad defender.
Other staples may also define the "goodness" of your build.
As will the campaign style, close quarter dungeon crawls could negate any archery making option 1 a "bad" build.

Is it a good build needs these questions answered:
A) Can it do what I set out for it to do?
B) Does it at least vaguely fit the style of campaign it will appear in?
C) Is it a hindrance* to the rest of the party?

A & B should = yes, C should = no

* by hindrance I mean woefully under powered compared to the rest of the party, such that they often have to save your butt even if you are doing what you should be doing (tank standing in the front line for instance). Note that this does not mean munkined out to the max
