Paladin of neutrality?

IMC I'd like each of the gods (there are four, elemantally-themed) to have their own flavor of paladin. I've seen chaos/evil paladin variants, which are helpful, but the water god is neutral and I'm not sure how to tweak the paladin for that. Has anyone seen or used any neutral paladin variants?

I remember seeing one in Dragon. Don't know the issue number, though, sorry. It had a sort of elemental flavour, you got an elemental companion instead of a mount.

But I must question the concept of a paladin of neutrality. "What makes a man turn neutral? Lust for gold? Power? Or were you just born with a heart full of neutrality?"

In an older Dragon magazine, there were Paladins of all the alignments detailed. There was one for Neutral called the Paramander, which was a sort of seeker of balance in a sort of hippy-ish way, but he had a counterpart called the Paramandyr which was a Slayer type of Paladin who sought out extremes (of alignment balance) and strove to eliminate them.

I liked the idea behind having essentially 2 sects of neutral paladin types.

Perhaps he's seen the effects of extreme beliefs first hand. When he was young, his small country was taken over and brutalized by LE tyrants. During the "war of liberation" led by CG forces (elves?), his people were decimated. Leaving home to wander the world, he saw essentially the same thing again, communities laid waste in a conflict between demonic forces and defending paladins exacting just vengeance. After a while, enough is enough: The world cries for balance!

With the irony being that a fanatically neutral paladin is as unbalanced as any other. Sounds like fun. ;)
