D&D 5E (2014) Paladins - Shield and Sword or Two-Handed

I prefer sword and board as I feel it is slightly more traditional, but greatsword is a perfectly valid conceptual choice.

It would depend on the type of paladin I was playing.

I don't play 5th, but looking back across the editions, most of my Paladins have been sword & boarders. But I've had plenty of fun playing 2 handers, 2WFers and even the odd ranged weapon "specialist". I haven't tried one with the single weapon with empty offhand, though.

I prefer sword and shield, although it might depend in the image I have of the character (either the image in my head or an image found on the net).
