Is there any sort of paper-based golem for d20 in any published sources?

Well, at least I can't find one in my database...

One might make a point that the Wasp Nest Golem from the Creature Collection III technically is a paper golem, though I'm not sure if that's what you are looking for.

It came out in 2003.

i wouldn't want to be a paper golem. they'd tear through me like... paper.

Yes, but you beat stone golems every time.

Scissors golems must be feared, though.

I was hoping their was some golem made from paper or books out there somewhere

Amazingly enough, with all the golems populating monster books, a normal paper golem seems to have been overlooked. There are a few more or less close creatures, but no real paper golem.

There's also the grisgol from the MMIII, which among other things incorporates used scrolls and shreds from spellbooks.

Yup, I saw that, but it may be a little too nasty for a level 4-7 party. Unless someone wants to help tone it down to a CR7 monster.
