Paradigm Concepts (PCI) to publish Adventure Modules for Alderac Entertainment Group, Inc. (AEG) Legend of the Five Rings TM and Spycraft TM

November 21, 2002 (Miami, FL) Paradigm Concepts entered into an agreement with Alderac Entertainment Group to publish adventure modules for the Legend of the Five Rings and Spycraft role-playing game lines. Paradigm Concepts is the publisher of the critically acclaimed Arcanis: World of the Shattered Empires for the d20 System TM.

”We've always been great fans of AEG,” says Paradigm Concepts President, Henry Lopez. “The chance to contribute to the wonderful worlds they created is a both a pleasure and honor, for not only myself, but the entire Team.” AEG echoes these sentiments and we are happy to enter a relationship that promises to deliver the outstanding adventure products for which PCI is renowned.

Legend of the Five Rings (L5R) is an award winning role-playing game set in the intrigue and adventure laden-lands of Rokugan, a place where “honor is more powerful than steel.” Players take on the role of heroic samurai, mystical shugenja, or cunning ninja, striving to save the Empire from deadly Shadowlands creatures and even more insidious threats from within.

Spycraft is the definitive spy and espionage role-playing game for earth-shaking adventure. Players become larger-than-life super-spies poised to take on threats of global scale power-mad dictators, eccentric billionaire industrialists, and criminal masterminds obsessed with world domination.

Alderac Entertainment Group, Inc. (AEG) is an award-winning industry leader in the collectible card game and role-playing game categories. AEG develops and publishes popular game-based entertainment products, including: Warlord: Saga of the Storm, Legend of the Five Rings, 7th Sea, Swashbuckling Adventures, Doomtown, Farscape, Spycraft, and Shadowforce Archer. Conrats folks; I'm really looking forward to seeing some Spycraft scenarios. How easy do you think you can make it to port the Spycraft mods to d20 Modern?

I hope you will focus more on real world spies (aka Le'Carte or even Cold war or WWII) rather then on the shadowforce archer setting.

Sounds intriging. Are these going to be big 120+ page module/sourcebooks or 32 page adventures?

We do not plan to make 32 page adventures in the traditional sense. Every product will be a sourcebook with adventures and/or adventure seeds placed within.

Our initial run of products will all be 64 pages or larger.

Will the Rokugan adventures feature Roll&Keep stats for the standard L5R RPG?

Yes, that is our intention.

On a personal note, L5R is a favorite of mine and of the rest of the Paradigm team. Several of us were heavy tournament players with some success and and we were all strongly into the storyline. We think that people will be pleased with our efforts.

Excellent. Adventures for L5R is one thing I've been keen to see. Having had YEARS of experience in western adventures, but really unsure about how to design adventures and campaigns for oriental settings.
