Paragon Multiclassing: What am I missing?

This is -seperate- from the retraining option. This allows you to update your second-class powers, and is the only way to do so.

As much as I would like to agree with you, and by the RAW that's how I read it, customer service said you can replace powers gained through paragon multiclassing.

Now, IMO those guys do not have much respect for RAW, and are also prone to being inconsistent, but .. since they've said you can, I'm going to take their word for it until something makes it into FAQ.

I'm inclined to disagree -specifically- because there is a rule -specificly- disallowing powerswap from paragon paths, and nothing out there says otherwise. Not to mention, swapping doesn't apply to your second class directly, because you don't -actually- belong to that class.

Well, fine ... we can all disagree with customer service, and it seems we have plenty of reasons to ... but (for D&D campaigns such as LFR at least) we need a common rules platform upon which to play our games.
Regardless of whether those rules are valid or illogical or outright atomic wedgie material, they must be the same across the board.

Can you tell who is Lawful Evil here?

Personally I think a good fix isn't to swap an at-will at level 11, but just give then another at-will from the second class. This way they're not losing options, but gaining options.

At any rate, this seems like a job for higher level rules-monkeys than the WoTC Customer Service.

Sage Advice, ya?

Well, since most folks aren't going to take paragon multiclassing (and living LFR won't get to level 11 till 2010 maybe), it won't be much of an issue.
House rules are house rules ... they're always going to be what works best for the particular play group.

But yeah ... sage advice at least (I don't know who is sage know, but in 3.5e, sage made a few silly rulings) ... official PHB FAQ preferably.
