At this point im pretty sure the DM is trying to say "Solve the puzzles in the correct manner or die."

What did the GM mean by "correct manner"? Is the GM's bad attitude because you used this forum for help?

I am extrapolating. The correct manner would seem to be following the clues laid out, instead of doing stuff like trying to cut the corpse down. As far as i can tell the GM does not know that i asked for help on the puzzle here.

just a question, but have you tried sleeping in the room, I mean, the quote refers directly to sleep twice, and to falling only once, so maybe the dm wants to send you something in a dream, that would assist you in figuring out the puzzle, I would try sleeping to "prove you are not evil" because evil sleeps not, unless it causes mischief.

just a thought

Every now and then the DM makes fort rolls for us, one guy failed and he was hit with a disease of some kind, and needed a cure disease potion. We took that as a hint to do things quickly. Besides sleeping in a mausoleum with a weird corpse, mass undead outside, and the whole thing in a evil pocket dimension doesnt seem like a good idea either.

A RBDM would have the players going, "We're so screwed! And man, that was fun!" The latter half of the mix seems significantly missing here.

I had one game like that... I made 7 charries one time because I was bored, between the levels of 8->10. I kept dying, hell, we ALL kept dying. Buuut, in the end (I had two charries left) we were all talking about how much this character died, but what an AWESOME way to go.

Then they bartered my Gnoll for their freedom... bastard fellow players. :P

Do you feel like the other players are frustrated as well?

If so, just tell the DM that you're done with the puzzle and want to move on. He can either end the campaign or move things forward, his call.

I dont think they are frustrated. As far as we know the puzzle has to be solved elsewhere and i think they want to try it. If more insta-kills happen, that attitude may change.

The 416 thing never occured to us....we were just going to start randomly putting stuff in, even though the DM has sprung traps all over the place so far.

It was the first thing that jumped out at me. It is extraordinarily common for puzzles to be mostly decoration. There is usually one thing to key in on in the puzzle, and a number is an obvious choice. When you start looking at numbers, you should start looking at other numbers, in this case 21, 10, and 11.
