Ok in my groupe we had a player who was ok but he never changed his pcs from one game to the next. When we were playing and something happed to him he would act like a little baby and throw a fit. He would take his pcs failure as his own i know some people get attached to their pcs but this guy was going to far. He would ruin a whole secission with his pouting. We kickedhim out but it has left a bad feeling around the group. Did we do right and how can we get rid of the strange feeling we have?

Wiggus, I played in a party with this same type of player. He always wanted to play the same type and got really ticked off if something bad happened to the character.

We tried to convince him, for the party's sake, when we started new campaigns to play something different. He never did, so we tried teasing him about always playing the character type. It didn't work.

Finally the DM and I talked and we decided at the next campaign we would go with a "theme" group. All the characters had to worship the same god, belong to the same guild or something along those lines. The DM had us make clerics or paladins from the same church.

He didn't like that at all. It didn't fit in any way with the character type he had played for the last 10 years. He made the character and played but he brooded at all the sessions, he tried to cause as much strife in the party as possible; he annoyed the NPCs and was a general pain.

In our case the group ceased to play in a large part because of this player.

You and your group might try the "theme" approach but the rest of the party has to go along with the idea. Maybe you could invite the guy back under those conditions. I don't know if it will turn out better for you or not. If you like the guy and think the rest of the party is bummed about kicking him out its something to try.

Good luck!

If he was disrupting the group's session then you did the right thing. The game was supposed to be fun. Sometimes characters die, it's part of the game.
