Path of the Magi?

With so much fanfare on the different Necromancer Games coming from the Troll Lords, I just thought I'd drop in a little peep for an update on this book from Citizen Games.

The end is near...

Path of the Magi is almost finished. Interior layout is almost finished and Mac is going to wrap up the cover design early next week (after that he'll do The Book of Familairs). The book is set for a ship-to-printer date of July 1-3. Printing it for Gencon is going to be tough, but we are going to try like a devil to get at leaset a few hundred copies at that largest of game fairs. Its turning out to be about 130 + pages.

You'll no doubt hear more about it early next week.

Thanks for asking,
Steve

Hmmm...this must be sheer coincidence...I was wondering about this too...

I enjoyed Way of the Witch and thought it'd be a big turning point for Citizen Games d20 material, especially with the authors on Path of the Magi.

Are there any other books planned in this series?

Is this going to be 3.5 or 3.0?

How about a sneak peak at the table of contents?

What's different from this than say, Tome and Blood or the Book of Eldrich Might?

3.5 and others rolling down the pipe

Joe,

The book has already been brought up to 3.5 rules standards. The task slowed the production down enough that it won't make a Gencon release (maybe, just maybe, but we aren't holding our breaths).

And your right with Citizen Games. Way of the Witch really helped them out, as this book will Troll Lord Games. Davis and I, the main creative force behind our Erde and Inzae products are really story tellers, and tend to go light on the rules side of things. Winter Runes was our first real departure from that. Paths of the Magi, Book of Familiars and Art of War are all books moving away from this and into the more game side of things. With people like Sean Reynolds and Jeff Quick on board for Paths it is a really good and desirable book. Lots and lots of tables!

As for more like it, the short answer is yes. Next up is the Cult of the Swords, which will have a whole new look at fighters . . . more on that later.

But yes there is a series in mind to really develop the ground breaking Paths of the Magi.

As for a sneak peek. I will make it happen. Davis has laid out the bulk of the book, and I'll draw up a pdf in the next day or so and load it up on the web page.

Thanks for the questions,
Steve

You've been a busy little poster these last few days amigo. Slow down, you'll burn your keyboard out.

I am happy to see such a wide variety of material coming out from Troll Lords.

lol

Yeah, I though I should catch up over here. With so many books rolling off the presses (three of them hardback) we don't have time to hop on the boards much anymore. Lord I don't think Davis or Todd ever show up...of course Todd's summer hobby is teaching gym so he's out in the day anyway.

This book is going to be first for us. Solid mechanics written by people you all have come to know best. Speaking of which I know that Sean Reynolds will be at our booth signing at Gencon.

I'm still working on the preview folks.

Steve

Thanks Steve. I know this is convention season and any little bonuses like a preview are eating into time that could be spent getting more books out there but hey, fans want what they want. :D

pdf up and running

Hey all,

As promised there is a sneak peak at Paths of the Magi on our webpage, www.trolllord.com. Take a look. I'm not sure which or what Davis loaded it up, but I promise its there.

Our cover layout, same Elmore piece, should be done tomorrow and the book is off to the printer on Monday.

Thanks,
Steve

resolution

Hey folks,

Just to let those of you who don't know, know. I set the resolution at 72 dpi, so some of the pics look a little blurry. I do this for those folks who still have 56k modems, the download is a little faster.

Thanks,
Steve
