Thrindar: Initiative +2 / Perception +3 / Sense Motive +3

The dwarf nods. "Indeed ma'am. I serve my lady Sarenrae, the Dawnflower, the Everlight, the Healing Light. But what of you? What deity do you follow? Or are you one of those that follows several or many deities? Or perhaps on that follows none? All are valid paths. What is yours?" The dwarf waits expectantly.

"My, my, it seems the dwarf found his tongue," Shayliss smiles as Thrindar responds. "Mmm, Shelyn is my personal favorite, my patron actually. My nameday was given for her. Sarenrae is... nice I suppose. I do like it when men like yourself hold to the virtue of honesty.

"Actually I could use some help. You see my sister, Katrine, has been getting herself in some trouble. And my poor father, well, he's too wrapped up in her problems to take care of his own."

Shayliss pouts her lips as she continues, "The store has rats. Why, just yesterday, I'm sure I saw one the size of a goblin hiding behind a barrel at the far end of the basement! My father doesn't believe me, but I know he's just more distracted by what Katrine might or might not be up to at the lumber mill. And since there's this handy new hero in town," she adds coyly, placing her finger on Kelvyn's chest and gently stroking upward, "well, I just thought maybe said hero could come back with me to kill a few rats in the store's basement."

She looks at Thrindar and Jekyll, then darts her eyes back to Kelvyn, a playful look on her face, "Of course there aren't many rats!" she adds quickly, "certainly not enough to warrant having more than one hero to take care of them. I'm sure a single, strong Keleshite could handle them."

Thrindar: Initiative +2 / Perception +3 / Sense Motive +3

Thrindar nods. "Ah yes! Shelyn! The Eternal Rose! I am somewhat of a student of all religions. I would love to speak with you at length about your faith."

"Is something going on at the lumber mill?" Asks Jekyll, attempting as disarming of a look as possible.

Kelvyn takes in the young woman's interactions with a bemused look, which turns thoughtful as he considers her proposal.

As Kelvyn recalls hearing stories told about Katrine's promiscuity, Jekyll tries to pry some information out of Shayliss, but she shoos him off (Diplomacy 3: failure). She also politely declines the invitation to talk about her faith with Thrindar, apparently interested solely in Kelvyn. She gently caresses his muscly arms while making a pouting face. "Oh, please won't you help this poor maiden out with the nasty rats in the cellar?" she pleads.

Jekyll glances toward the glass factory, not so sure all is kosher about the seductive woman and her problem with giant rats.

Jekyll looks around but nothing untoward seems to be going on (Perc 23). A few townsfolk have wandered by, bemused at the scene. One woman quickly pulled her child along as soon as she spied the somewhat less-than-fully-dressed Shayliss, the top of her bosom prominently displayed. But Jekyll spies no skulking figures, suspicious persons, or such. The Glassworks sits as it was just down the street.
OOC: From the previous description, "A furnace is pumping smoke into the air, and you can smell it before you even arrive. Luckily the breeze seems to carry the smell out to the ocean. The Glassworks is a rather impressively-sized industrial structure, with high ceilings and a variety of glass windows. The main entryway to the Glassworks is closed, but appears unlocked. There are several other entrances. One appears to be an entry to a loading room. There are a pair of workers moving supplies inside through a set of large double doors. There is also an entrance to a showroom on the south side of the building. Around back you can see a set of stairs that lead down from a back entrance to the Glassworks to the beach below. A sign outside this entrance reads in two languages, one in Common, the other quite foreign, "Employee Entrance Only."

"Well and well, m'lady . . . my friends and I will be happy to help you with your little dilemma, eh fellas?" He gestures with his head to his comrades, indicating that they should come along with the big man and their newfound friend.

"Friends, oh no!" Shayliss erupts suddenly before regaining her composure, "I mean, they'd probably just get in the way, I mean, it's really such a tiny cellar and all. Hardly room for anyone but you and the rats... and me of course. I have to show you where the rats are. I mean they're giant rats, but you they hide in crevices between crates. And I know all the good hiding spots. No, no need to bother your friends. I'm sure you can just... meet up with them later."

As she speaks Sayliss tugs gently on Kelvyn's arm trying to draw him back toward the center of town, her face pouting. She is not pulling tightly though and Kelvyn could easily resist if he desired, but Shayliss stops if anyone else seems to follow in order to discourage them. "My brave Keleshite warrior is all the strength needed for this little errand, I assure you."
