Paizo Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous Video Game Kickstarter Live

The Kickstarter for the new Pathfinder video game is now live and rocketing towards funding (it made $100K in the first hour or so). It describes itself as "A new isometric single-player RPG set in the Pathfinder universe – an indirect sequel to Pathfinder: Kingmaker."

It's based on Pathfinder 1st Edition, with an added "strategic layer" of gameplay allowing you to lead armies. For $28 you get a digital copy of the game. Like its predecessor, Kingmaker, this is made by the Russian studio Owlcat Games. The previous Kickstarter made nearly a million dollars.

In this game, you also choose one of six mythic paths (angel, lich, trickster, aeon, demon, or azata), one of ten races, and one of 21 classes (each with five archetypes).

Its getting close to the Skald, but looks like the Kickstarter is slowly loosing steam which is not surprising after the initial rush.

Every Kickstarter follows the same U shaped pattern with a big long low flat bit in the middle.

Skald is in, next goal is upgrading the music by having special themes for important events in game.

Should still be doable imo.

Better music is funded, the next goal is doubling the reactive dialogue (dialogue and NPC comments that change depending on your race, class, deity, reputation, etc.)

Imo thats very important, especially when you have uncommon races like tieflings, dhampirs and the race that gets decided on from the stretchgoal.

Also, not a strechgoal but Owlcat just confirmed that they will include a turn based mode after this was a much requested (and modded) feature for Kingmaker.

Reading the example given different heritages like Pitborn (Demon) Tiefling will be treated as a their own race for this purpose.

More reactive text has been funded by the way. As has the extra Archetyp (variant) per class, bringing the number of variants to 6 per class (and the game will have a lot of classes).

The current stretchgoal is a bit ambitious as it still requires 100k more and includes a new race, the Oread (basically the elemental version of tieflings) and a spanish translation.

The spanisch translation was funded (hopefully a better one than my google translate sentence above) and the Oread are in.

Next goal is in 110k with 2 more romance options. A female half elf from a strict household which enjoys the away time from her parents during the crusade and a male aasimar playboy.
