Actually, the look of the WAR goblins reminded me a lot of the wall goblin/thing from Stephen King's Cat's Eye (even mentioned it in my blog).

The wicked blade, the disheveled clothing, the spike-toothed maws, and their ratty clothes.

Although I don't necessarily see a direct translation of them, or anything, I love when monsters, especially ones based on old fairy tales, re-gain that look and feel as it triggers something in our folksie memories, or at least it seems to.

It's so much easier to creep your players out, that's for sure. :D

Bravo!

Abso-frickin'-lutely amazing! :D

I have to say that this is the most fun thing to hit RPGs in a long time. I am so totally energized by these goblins!

Kudos to the fine folks at Paizo for a job well done!

Yeah. And the new bit about the Runelords is kind of neat. I like how they made "Good" alternates to the biblical seven deadly sins. That's kind of neat.

You mean the seven Virtues? I'm not big on religion, but I think those were already there. It's just that the sins get more publicity.

On a side note, these new goblins have inspired me to do some more homebrew stuff. Namely a new discipline for the ToB classes. It's based on savage attacks, bloody criticals and such, so I think it'll fit the little nasties pretty well. I'm looking for a little help, if anybody's interested.

Nah, the seven Paizo virtues are actual opposites of the sins, rather than the biblical virtues. Unless I'm totally off my rocker. I'm not sure the Bible ever saw "Wealth" as a virtue; in the Paizo system, it's the "good" side of "Greed".

Ah... I haven't actually looked at the new one yet. I should go do that...

But yeah, my first thought on seeing the post above was nWoD's Virtues/Vices. I thought it was gonna be more like that.
