Well, does anyone want to be honest with these guys? We are looking for them after all, and will end up having to explain ask for directions after all...

Or should we just beg for forgiveness and ask for directions cause we are obviously in the wrong area? :)

If we don't accept their demand to escort us we are probably going to have to fight them. I don't think we are properly prepared to face all those breath-weapons stacked on the small area we're in, if we are going to fight them we have to strike first. What's the HD of a dragon that size?
It's probably better to be honest about where we are going.

When in doubt, my character is inclined to fight (just thought I'd mention that in case you had any doubts).

My character has no real idea of the relative power levels of our party versus the party of gith and dragons. But my character would think it would be a bad idea to let others threaten us without us threatening back.

And if the threats lead to actual violence, well that's one of the risks of life.

With regards to honesty, if you tell them where we are going, we'll probably have to the cut them in for a share of the reward we expect to get from the wizard. That is not necessaily a bad thing, but given that we are sort of being magically compelled into wanting to do this trip for the reward, I'm not sure whether my character would want to share the reward.

Well I haven't been over to post in character yet but I expect Brystasia's faith to save her from ANY damage from the breath weapon...

Red Mature Adult DC 27
Red Old DC 30

Brystasia's Reflex Save: 27 + Ring of Envasion

Results:

I just noticed that my most devastating tactic is a lot less useful than I had thought. At a caster level of 25 and a +29 against SR I will be able to paralyze most non-good opponents we face with a Holy Word. Unfortunately Holy Word will also affect non-good party members, and since Antillus the Hunter has only 13 HD the spell will kill him outright if he's in the aoe.

I guess I will have to cast Timestop and a bunch of save-or die spells. Hmm, unless someone feels like changing their alignment...

Time Stop
Transmutation

Level: Sor/Wiz 9, Trickery 9

Components: V

Casting Time: 1 standard action

Range: Personal

Target: You

Duration: 1d4+1 rounds (apparent time); see text

This spell seems to make time cease to flow for everyone but you. In fact, you speed up so greatly that all other creatures seem frozen, though they are actually still moving at their normal speeds. You are free to act for 1d4+1 rounds of apparent time. Normal and magical fire, cold, gas, and the like can still harm you. While the time stop is in effect, other creatures are invulnerable to your attacks and spells; you cannot target such creatures with any attack or spell. A spell that affects an area and has a duration longer than the remaining duration of the time stop have their normal effects on other creatures once the time stop ends. Most spellcasters use the additional time to improve their defenses, summon allies, or flee from combat.

You cannot move or harm items held, carried, or worn by a creature stuck in normal time, but you can affect any item that is not in another creature’s possession.

You are undetectable while time stop lasts. You cannot enter an area protected by an antimagic field while under the effect of time stop.

Most of the save or die type spells are targetted, sorry to rain on your parade.

I know we are not much of an effective group and that none of are characters know each other but the extreme lack of OOC talk is a bit surprising...

Yesterday, I posted OOC wanting to know how everyone felt like doing in the situation. Their wasn't a whole lot of replies but looking at the times its not that big of a deal.

PA, are you sure I don’t know the languages? I do speak Draconic. :) If not no biggy.

Also, I’m at work today I'll get my in character posting up later. :)

BS

Good point. It may be a good idea to discuss general strategy as well. Kelnar can cast rary's telepathic bond if anyone is interested. Also, He has permanent tongues cast.

It seems as if we may walk away from this one without combat, however, if we need to go in a direction that the guards don't want us to go there could be a problem. While moving we should space out so as not to get 4 quick breath weapons.
