[PbP] EoM game: the graduates of Bluetower Academy

Amisel will wait to see how the others tactics work with the goblin. If they are unsuccessful, he will say, "That's funny, for being king of the water, you don't have much control over it." He then cast Create Water (using Create Object, Life) over top of the head of the goblin.

Hmm. So the first test is to get some water from this goblin. The plug either needs to be moved, or removed. Since we have to pass 9 other trials, we should conserve our magic. Perhaps some diplomacy is in order.

"Master of Life and Death?!" Kera excllaims. "You stupid goblin, unless you can move that boulder, you'll die of thirst too. And I'll bet there's no way a scrawny old goblin like you can move it again."

That didn't come out right. Maybe diplomacry should be avoided when hot and tired.

I'm fine with DM rolling. Not only would it speed things up, I also don't want to keep getting dice out in my room, because I'll lose them.

Kera has an initiative of 4 (2+2 dex).

Rolled a 12 for a total of 13 for initiative. Amisel, however, will hold his action to go after the gobin, because I indicated he wanted to see what the goblins response to the others would be.

Ok, here's my proposal for rolling rules for this game. (Since you have thwarted my attempts at being lazy...)

When I would normally request a roll and wait for you to post it, I'll just roll it and save you the time.
When you do something that requires a roll, just roll it yourself, post it, and save me the time.

There, time saved all around.

In the case of this particular game, especially post all the rolls and point breakdowns required for any magic you do so that the others can learn how it works. Pretty soon, we'll do it all in our heads like we do most anything else, but not yet. You should make very sure that you post what level you are casting at, and how many spell points it cost you. I am assuming (arbitrarily) for this round that you cast at 1st level.

Initiative order:

Elwent: 24
Inkar: 18
Amisel: 13
Goblin: 12
Kera: 4

OK, results:

Elwent: Casts Compel Humanoid: Suggestion: Thirst. The goblin rolls a will save (5). He will act on his initiative.

Inkar: You pick up a sharp rock from the ground and bang it into the boulder, trying to see if you can damage it. In the amount of time you have, you cause little more than a few scratches. The sphere seems very solid and incredibly heavy.

Amisel: You are holding your action, seeing if the goblin will react to the others. (Initiative reset to 11)

Goblin: (to Elwent) "Thirsty? Yes, I could use a drink... wait, does not the magic of my ring prevent this...?" He holds up a hand and now you see, wedged in between the wrinkles in the skin of a finger, a simple band of tarnished metal, "What are you playing at? Do you truly fail to grovel before my might?" He pulls back his hand to deliver a backhand slap to Elwent, but he misses by a wide margin.

Amisel: Seeing the failure of the magic, you cast Create Life: Water above the goblin's head. (side effect: The goblin has become wet, like we couldn't figure out that that would happen without the side effect chart...) The goblins splutters and looks very angry.

Kera: You attempt your Diplomacy: (rolled 18 + 3 (cha) = 21 -4 for rudeness = 17). We'll see how the wet goblin reacts.

Now on to Round Two of the negotiations.

Ha ha ha! You one wet gobbo! Maybe you should hang you up to dry., laughs Inkar. He finds the wet goblin incredibly funny. Knowing that they can easily create water, he decides to save his strength and not move the boulder. He has his waraxe ready though, just in case gob tries anything malicious.

If the goblin had a magic ring, then he didn't need the water. So much for that plan. It also seems to have stymied Elwent. And Amisel drenched the goblin instead of creating water for us.
There wasn't a whole lot pyromancy could do against a big rock without using lots of powerful spells for little effect.

Kera grinned. There was an easy way to move the boulder, actually. "Guys, keep him busy." She says, waving idly at the goblin as approaches the boulder. 'I'm going to move this rock."

Circling the rock, Kera chants and touches the boulder at 4 approximately equidistant points. Glowing marks of fire appear at the points she touches.

OOC:

Cast level 1 Infuse Object with Fire, movement mode (10 ft ground speed). 600 lbs will be affected and this amount will increase as she repeats the spell. Duration is 6 minutes. MP = 28/29, I need to double check this.
