[PbP] EoM game: the graduates of Bluetower Academy

"From no water to too much. This storm doesn't look very good," Amisel says, looking att he oncoming clouds. "Perhaps we should recover that box, before it drifts out to sea."

Amisel heads in that direction, but it is slow-going in his armor.

"Thanks for the featherfall, Amisel." Kera says after safely landing thanks to his spell. After having her rejuvenation spell take effect, Kera seems to be feeling much better.

She had blasted away the elementals - well, some of them - and had figured out how to move the plug. Great. Even with her relatively narrow training, she wasn't any worse of a wizard than Elwent.

Of course, this new test wasn't exactly her cup of tea. Her fire magic would be largely ineffective against anything water related. Well, she had a few lightning spells that should work. But getting soaked while stranded on a tiny island wasn't a promising start.

"I already hate this test. Let's get this over with quickly," Kera whines as she trudges over toward where Inkar is messing with the box.

The box opens easily. Inside, carefully packaged in sponges, are eight small, one-ounce glass vials. They are sealed with wax plugs bearing, in tiny letters, the inscription, "Liquid Mana. Handle with care. Excessive use is not recommended."

Inkar growls. "Pah.. Liquid Mana. Drink?"

"Hmm..." Elwent scratched his bearded chin, peering at the vials. "We should wait to drink them until our inner reserves are exhausted. And from the looks of it, we should keep them in the box to prevent any damage." Straightening, he glanced around the area. "So what are we supposed to do here? Dispel the storm?"

A minute or so later, the sun goes down. It is abruptly very dark, the only natural illumination being the flashes of lightning.

The storm intensifies. The rain begins to come down at a tremendous rate. With alarm, you notice that the sand of your island is starting to turn to mud and wash away into the sea.

Just when you are verifying this, you see far off the the west, previously hidden by the swells, a couple faint lights. They are moving, and your assumption is that they are the guide lights for a ship, one fore and one aft, but they are far too far away to make out the ship itself (if ship it truly is).

It becomes clear, as the lights continue moving, that they will pass by within a couple hundred yards of the island in about half an hour, but not near enough to see you. You estimate you have about an hour before the island totally washes away and leavs you adrift in the sea.

"Well, I can cast fly on everyone to fly us out to the lights, if indeed it is a ship. Any other suggestions before we're swept out to sea?" Amisel asks.

"It looks like we should catch a ride on that ship. We could use our spells to signal it and attract the crew's attention. But I don't know how to swim or Fly, and this island seems to be erroding quickly. I've got a spell for seeing in the dark, if someone needs it work his magics."

Kera stands in the middle of island, soaked to the bones, hoping someone has a spell to handle this efficiently. After doing much of the work on the last test, she was disappointed no one had offered her some of the liquid mana.
