PCGen and ETools

First Post
Ok...so I'm a bit out of touch...last time I was really deep in the boards Code Monkey was negotiating with Wizards re: ETools...(which was a while ago ;) )

So can someone explain the difference between ETools and PCGen? Is there a significant advantage to buying ETools ($30) and ETools Data Sets (~$7) over getting PCGen ($0) and then getting the PCGen Data Sets (~$7)?

(money is the issue for me obviously)

Thanks!

eTools is nearing the end of its life. CMP is working on RPG Toolkit, which they hope to have out by year's end. Anyone who has purchased datasets from CMP (either eTools or PCGen), can, for a time, freely convert these datasets to RPGT datasets.
