What, no option for ALL of them?

Didn't vote because I can't make up my mind.

Voted for d6

Played Earthdawn a long time and I loved step 8 = 2d6

I love the ED step system. The best, however, is step 14. D20 + d4.

The d20 lets you get many target numbers, and the d4 gives you a 1 in 4 chance of rolling a 4. For those that don't know the system, if you roll the highest number on a die (on any of the dice), you get to re-roll the die and add that to the total. And if you roll the highest number on THAT re-roll, you roll again. :D

So, you could keep rolling over and over, as long as you kept getting a 4 on the d4. you kept adding to the total. Pretty amazing damage rolls there. And, considering that the d4 doesn't really "roll", skilled dicers know how to "drop" the d4 without looking like it's being "dropped".

:D

d12 and a d20 is all you need.

d12 can be a d6 or d4 (or even d3)

d20 can be your d10 (by which you get your d%)

Since d12 is the most versatile it has to be d12.

I vote D20...although I'm still waiting for a really big spell that lets me roll 20d20 or something for damage...BWAHAHAHAHA!

*note to self - go home and create stupidly powerful epic level spell with which to torment anyone silly enough to play in my campaign where it can be used*

d30!

They're huge. They're heavy. And they're the most underutilized die ever. I've only found one RPG that even mentions it in the rules.

What about a d100? Those golf-ball looking dice that don't stop rolling. There are also existing d34 and d16 dice but they are hard to find. I however voted for the d4. It's a spinning top, it's a caltrop, it's hard to read. What more could you want from a die.

The new d100s aren't as bad, they really stop rolling quite quickly compared to the old ones when Gamescience first released them. I was impressed... I tested my old one against a new one at GenCon, and there was a noticeable difference.

And d34... I have it. Actually, I have the required THREE of them. They are nearly useless if used alone.

Gotta go with the twelve-sided-die, if for no other reason than once having our hobby immortalized to the masses in that weezer song they used ot play on the radio. :)
