Actually it is not that big a problem PC's since they gain XP all the time, it only really becomes an issue for NPC item creators, that PC's might buy from. This sets an ultimate limit on how many magic items an NPC might make, if he is not into frequent adventuring, that is.

If you only increase your size category if your size is doubled or more, as someone stated, how do you deal with the psionic version of "enlarge"?

IIRC, it's not limited to 50% as magik version but goes up to 100%, so effectively doubling your size...

Let compare these shall we:

Enlarge, wiz 1, close range, one creature or object, 50% enlargement , no size increase

Expansion, psion 2, personal, 100 enlargement, size increase

What wrong with that?

You don't have to look like an ogre, just like an immensely tall human. If any of you have read 'A Clash of Kings' then my idea for the enlarged (or expansioned or whatever) character is sir Gregor Clegane, the 'mountain that rides'. He can wield a greatsword in one hand and is extremely strong.
