Actually, I think calling it Forgotten Realms might rather work in it's favour as long they
keep 'D&D' or 'Dungeons & Dragons' out of the title.

That it just looks like a Another Fantasy Movie, rather than a Silly Geek Game Movie.

But the fans would still show up.

Well, this lowers the suckitude possibilities. Even though I love HALO, I had no hope for a decent film, but now, I may have to raise my hopes.

I think this is going to be one of the bigger challenges. Frankly, you don't need anyone for the Chief other than Steve Downs' voice, since you never see his face (and I don't think you should see it. MC is us). Cortana? Jen Taylor does her just great. Cortana's a special effect anyway, so CG her holo and get Taylor to do the voice.

You get into tough areas with the actual live humans whose faces we see. To my mind, you can't replace the voice of Sargeants Johnson and Stacker. Can those guys play those roles live action? If so, I'm for it.

It's moot, though, because my guess is they'll try and get some faces that folks know, and that will get butts in seats who don't know thing one about the game. "Starring Russell Crowe as Master Chief and Angelina Jolie as Cortana!" Lame.

Sorry, the more I think about this, the more I'm psyching myself out and gonna get bitter. I'll stop.
