Except, the Paladin only has good Fortitude saves, with poor Reflex and Will.

Yes but they can add their Charisma bonus to all their saves, which makes up for the lack of good saves in those two saves.

What does the Knight have? The option to get Great Fortitude? (it's not even a bonus feat)

Great Fortitude is among the options for bonus feats.

I don't think they need good fort. If they have a high AC they won't get poisoned by weapons, and if a bad guy sees an armored guy, they will try will save spells before they try fort save spells.

Knight saves are fine. With a good con, you have a nice balance of saves, which I prefer over the huge will save achilles heel of a standard fighter.

Ah yes, the clumsy and dumb paladin. Easily trapped and easily duped :)

jh
Dumb = low Int.

Clumsy = low Dex.

A paladin is likely to have a Wisdom bonus (up to Wis 14 to cast the higher-level Paladin spells), and Divine Grace puts the Paladin almost to Monk-level saves.

Having the Knight *not* share the fighting class Achilles' Heel of Will saves is a nice way of making it unique.

The Knight is fine, I believe too, but I still think they deserve a good Fortitude and Will save. I don't think the class would be unbalancing with both of them. It'd actually equal to the other classes like Paladin and Ranger if it had that

Yeah because both the ranger and Paladin are already benefiting from the d12 hit dice. :p

1 extra hit point per level on average is hardly helpful to the Knight compared to those two. Those two can heal themselves, one more better than the other. The Knight basically, with his d12 HD, just technically has Improved Toughness for free. Not that great compared to having good Fortitude saves

So they revised the ranger to have d10 hit dice, not d8? ;)
