PHB2 Errata and the knight class

The Knights are fine as written.

Exactly. Poison is supposed to be something feared and looked down upon by the honorable. The knight's poor fort save ensures this is the case.

That explains why the Paladin gets a low Fort Save as well, right?

I've not found the low Fortitude save an issue with the Knight, first off because you are going to have a decent Constitution Bonus, because you need all the hit points you can get when your key class abilities are to draw attacks, and take damage for other people. Second because Great Fortitude is a bonus feat available at 5th level. Oh and an optional 3rd, because so few Campaigns last to 20th level you will never see the "undying" class ability so you might as well get a couple of levels in Fighter for the bonus feats. The good will save however is a great bonus because Wisdom is about the only stat you can afford to dump (the five I rolled had to go somewhere).

I think the Fort save IS a problem for a front line class. Posion, Negative Levels, and Ability Damage are common special abilities monsters have. The Knight Challenge is used specifically to bring the enemy to him, and yet against the most common save they will be facing it has a poor save? the class should have a Medium Progression or a bonuses to Fort Saves like the Scout at least.

Should a Scout have a higher Fort save than a Knight?

A Knights' AC is not going to stop him from being hit, AC just does not increase fast enough compared to BAB.
