A familiar old man totters over, escorted by his pudgy flag boy. The flag boy sets up a folding chair for the old man and unwraps a portable tea set.

"I trust that I will be acceptable to both contestants," says the old man. "Both insults are effective. But while Temuro's insult to his opponent's kitten is apropos, I find myself particularly taken by Rini's double entendre regarding her opponent's weapon. Insults to Rini; she may choose the type and length of the match."

Hmm, what with the match I just came out of being so long, I'll take a judge generated hands strategy speed match to 3 flags.

::Rini bows to Ciaran and to Temuro. She then instructs her animal companions to wait for her to signal before they do anything.::

"Inasmuch as you speak of judge-generated hands," says the old man, "I presume that you mean a strategy match." The flag boy sets up three flags for each fighter as the judge reads off the hands of moves:

Rini’s Hand:
1: The whip seeks facing the canyon; negates the pain of the crevice!

2: The northstar falls within the wastelands; kicks over the violence of the wood!

3: The panther removes the forest as it painlessly breaks the sky; blocks the throw of the iron!

4: The stealthy raven tumbles across the sea; conceals the tempest of the blade!

5: The raven tramples the village; reduces the stab of the barrens!

Temuro’s Hand:
1: The thunder impales the labyrinth; quells the drive of the maze!

2: The tumbling fang tumbles over the labyrinth; absorbs the violence of the crevice!

3: The east wind kicks the ricefield; dominates the assailment of the insect!

4: The sword slides higher than the castle; dodges the chi of the elements!

5: The phoenix shouts with the city; wards off the beauty of the farm!

Temuro bows to the judge and to Rini. "It is a great honor for me to face you in this tournament, Rini-sama."

5: The phoenix shouts with the city; wards off the beauty of the farm! (dojo style)

As he drops into a defensive phoenix stance, Temuro's red armor brightens up into the yellow and orange normally favored by his clan, and he lets out a ki shout.

(Sorry about the delay…)

“This is a difficult round to judge,” says the old man. “Rini’s attack is strong but flawed; the raven is a flying beast, one not well suited to trampling. The shout of Temuro’s phoenix has little strength in itself, but it is joined by the voices of an entire city. Temuro’s defense is also slightly more apt. As the farmer shouts to drive crows from his fields, so does the cry of the phoenix force the raven to flee. Point and Style to Temuro.”

Two flags Temuro, zero flags Rini.

Temuro attempts a thundering strike through Rini's labyrinthine defense.
