I am starting a RIFTS game in Phoenix, AZ and am looking for players. If anyone is interested let me know.
Here is a bit about the setting.
It's set in 110 P.A. (I will do my best to modify the world for all of the North American events(Tolkeen, JU, etc.)
It will be in the New West, however I have modified it slightly as follows:
New West – JB Style
The New West is altered slightly in my version of the game. The largest difference is that the big cities; Phoenix, Las Vegas, Tuscon, Reno, etc. Are more than just ruins. A large number of buildings survived and so did a larger amount of the population. There is closer to a million people in the southwest U.S. rather than the 200,000 that the New West book states for the entire western region. Each of the large cities is a mix of “Dark Angel” by James Cameron and “Gunsmoke” by John Meston. This might seem like a stretch to some of you but its not really. Think architecture and technology level f DA and culture and society of Gunsmoke. Taverns, Wild West shootouts, and funny accents galore mixed with 6 story buildings, minimal electricity (personal nuclear engines and batteries), and sexy super soldier assassin cyborg ninja biker zombies.
If you haven't seen either of these shows you can watch them on the interwebs.
The story intro will be centered around Lord Manticore's Circus and Freak Show, a travelling show the size of a small city (about 1,000 people not including visitors).
Origin – all characters will be
1. Performers at the circus/side show (Any)
2. A member of the internal security force or the private army.
(Dogboys and any men-at-arms O.C.C.)
3. A citizen of Las Vegas. (Any)
Also a bit about the circus.
If you've ever been to Seattle, WA (Home of Dark Angel), there is a circus show called PURE Cirkus by 4 Horseman Productions. Lord Manticore's Circus and Sideshow is almost an exact copy of PURE Cirkus but more depraved and vulgar due to RIFTS having no real laws against anything, especially in the New West. Also if you've ever seen an ICP(Insane Clown Posse) video, you get the idea.
Also, for anyone who cares, by "any" O.C.C./R.C.C. I mean anything that can be explained as to why it is in south east Nevada going to a circus.
I.E. Why would a True Atlantean be wasting his time over there? He's got more important stuff to worry about, like kicking giant slave-taking alien intelligences off his island (continent).
