We have just started the house rule that in addition to the list of magic items can wear at one time they can also have ONE piercing. This sound good?

One piercing?

I can think of 10 commonly pierced areas of the body. Ears (2), Navel , eyebrows, tongue, nose, lip, and 3 more I can't mention without a special warning on the post. :D

While allowing 10 peircing magic items is a bit much; more than 1 might be called for.

Yeah. Maybe 2, tops.

I mean, I have 10 fingers, 10 toes, and I'm a guy, and I *still* only get 2 ring slots. ;)

As an aside: IMC, I introduced "intestinally slotted items" - smooth stones you could swallow that affected your divination profile (at least, that's the only kind the party ever found).

For some reason, nobody ever checked to see if they could use more than one at a time... :)

"Boy, if not for my Prince Albert* of Protection +5, that could have gotten ugly!"

Heheh...

*If you don't know what that is, don't ask...

I would say ONE.
Our sorcerer now has a piercing, it is still non-enchanted, at least in his opinion:D : anyway i don't want to see something like one of my latest campaign in 2ed AD&D with anklets, brooches, rings, amulets, earings everywhere: a jeweled aristocrat lady was less shining that our "humble" wizard in the group!!!!

You might create a new magic item slot and call it Jewlerly. This way any type of magical jewlry can be used, but a limit of only one would ever work. Rings would be kept seperate as would any jewlry that already fits a specific slot.

Create (Magic) Jewellery
[object creation]

Prerequisites: Spellcaster of 9th level or more
Benefits A spellcaster can actually create magic jewellery which prerequisties are met. Creating a magic jewellwery needs a day per 1.000 gp of its base cost. To foge a magic jewellery a spellcaster must spend 1/25 of its base cost in px, and use materials for 3/4 of his base price.
It is possible to repair magic jewellery as for any other magical items.
Extra costs for certain types of magic jewellery follows the general rules in PHB.

something like that?

While that is a good idea and would allow for a more flexible series of Item creation Feats that would allow Wizards to cater to the Nobles and other rich folk who don't want their magical trinkets to clash with their outfits because Looking good is better then Feeling good (thanks Billy Crystal).

However, I was more referring to adding an addtional slot to the Limits on Magical Items Worn as seen in the DMG pg 176. It would be a single slot that would add one piece of misc jewlery that could be placed in many different areas. However, each person would be limited to just one.
