I can't speak for the pipe bag, but Marsbarn on Etsy makes some awesome dice bags. I got one last year for Christmas and I love it. You can even got custom fabrics if you email and speak with the owner. Here is a review of the bags: Click Me

I was looking for a birthday gift for one of my nephews, and found this: http://www.amazon.com/Castleford-Black-Leather-Tobacco-Drawstring/dp/B001TA2MO2

Are there any pipe smokers out there, or anyone who uses one of these as a dice bag?

I can't really gauge the dimensions from the pictures and comments.

There is a strong leather smell but it can be remedied by burning strong incense and holding the bag over the smoke. Or you can just wait for the bag to air out a few hours. The size is about 5" tall and the diameter on the bottom is 3", for me that's not too big and not too small. Helps keep my tobacco fresh.

Dimension in a review. Looks big enough for a decent amount of dice.

I am on my 3rd Crown Royal bag..started using them as dice bags in 1985...they are the classic.

As far as my experience tells me all of the pipe tobacco bags i can remember are a bit too small for a gamers bag. yeah you can fit your basic set..d20, d12, d10(2), d8, d6 (up to 3 maybe 4) and a d4 but thats about it. not really enough room for backups incase your dice get umm...cursed...or lazy about rolling the good numbers..

Nah, I want to train him well from the get go. The Crown Royal route lies madness. I bought him 1 set of dice, and now 1 awesome bag that only they and a few friends can fit into.

BLASPHEMER...LOL j/k..An old college bud of mine made a soft leather satchel for his dice, leather laced, metal grommets for the pull string which was also leather. If you have the skill, or know of a good leatherworker in your area i'm more than certain they can hook you up with something both functional and unique that will most likely last a lifetime. Best of luck in your search!
