Pirate Borg: Buried in the Bahamas

After the terrors of the last day and a half, the raft bobbing out to sea, assisted by a ragged sail, is positively idyllic at first. With the help of the parrot, aiming more or less toward Rum Cay goes at a steady pace, although it will take hours to get the makeshift vessel to the hopefully more hospitable island.

At about midmorning, something large passes under the raft, causing it to rise and fall with its passage. Looking over the side, whatever it was -- or is -- appears to be largely translucent and difficult to see beneath the sparkling waves.

"Someone take the helm!"

He's referring to the place just next to the make-shift rudder that is guiding their vessel.

Desiree readies Moby's Ruin. No creature of the sea could withstand its fury.

"If that creature dares to try n' snack on us, we'll be eatin' like kings tonight!"

I'm not sure what the actual rules are for swimming and armour but my armour says I'll sink in the water so, I imagine, Desiree has his armour bundled and tied to the mast.

He has the sailor background so, if there is a way to make our vessel go faster, he might do that instead but, I imagine, we are trying to maintain as much speed as possible already so I'm not sure if that's even possible.

((It's mostly a rules-not-rulings situation in terms of armor))

Pirate Borg said:
Pirates and sailors almost never wear armor or use shields: Metal isn’t bulletproof—black powder weapons ignore armor—and getting around a ship while wearing it will get you snagged, thrown overboard, and probably drowned.

It takes a moment for the parrot to figure out what he's seeing under the water. It's a squid, longer and larger than a frigate. But it's strangely translucent, more the shape of an enormous squid than a real one. Its nearly invisible flesh appears torn and more than half-eaten and its tentacles seem to work despite large sections of them having been bitten away.

It regards the raft with an eye the size of a wine barrel, below which two nasty fishing spears, seemingly more solid than the rest, protrude from wounded flesh.

The ghost kraken's massive eyeball moves back and forth, scanning the raft, the parrot and everything else above it.

Then the kraken twitches and vanishes into the depths.

A moment later, the parrot sees it coming back up. Fast.

Desiree “the leperchaun” Groves isn’t scare of some oversized squid. He has Moby’s Ruin at his side. He readies the harpoon to impale the insufferable invertebrate.

At the last possible moment, he takes a deep breath and leaps into the air and dives headlong into the water meeting the kraken’s charge head on.

((Desiree will attack by diving into the water.
ATT: 1. Ugh.
Devil’s luck to reroll.
