Pirate's Guide to Freeport -- Impressions?

Chris,

AH! Yes I recall him now thanks to Thieves World. I haven't picked up Denizens (yet!). But in any case certainly looking forward to purchasing this soon.

I know that I'm desperately looking forward to it myself.

Almost as much as I'm looking forward to Buccaneers of Freeport. ;)

Seriously, Pirates' Guide is pretty near the top of my "Most anticipated" list for the rest of the year. I just wish Patrick had worked on Buccaneers, too. We've not yet gotten to work together.

We're like ships that pass in the night.

Firing broadsides at each other.

I'm just being a bit silly, really. I didn't get to work on the campaign setting, but I did get to work on Buccaneers. (It is, with the exception of the PDF-only module Gangs of Freeport, the only opportunity I've had to date to play professionally in the Freeport sandbox.) So I was trying, in my bizarre way, to show how excited I was for Pirate's Guide by saying that I was almost as eager for it to come out as I was for the book I myself worked on.

I guess you sort of had to be there. :heh:

As far as what the book's about, I'll direct you to the "Support Plans" section of the Freeport blog, here: http://www.greenronin.com/freeport/2007/02/freeport_designer_journal_1.php

Buccaneers of Freeport is the second setting sourcebook for the new line (the first is Cults of Freeport). It details 8 notorious pirate captains, their ships, and their crews in lavish detail. The characters will be easy to adapt to your chosen campaign setting, so this will be a handy book for GMs looking for colorful NPCs for their games. Look for Buccaneers of Freeport this winter.

I like that Freeport 2.0's NPC books are going to be focused on the core elements of the setting -- cultists and pirates. Any Freeport products planned beyond Buccaneers and the Bleeding Edge module?
