What would you charge for Pixie Arrows?

From the SRD -

Special Arrows (Ex): Pixies sometimes employ arrows that deal no damage but can erase memory or put a creature to sleep.
Memory Loss: An opponent struck by this arrow must succeed on a DC 15 Will save or lose all memory. The save DC is Charisma-based and includes a +2 racial bonus. The subject retains skills, languages, and class abilities but forgets everything else until he or she receives a heal spell or memory restoration with limited wish, wish, or miracle.
Sleep: Any opponent struck by this arrow, regardless of Hit Dice, must succeed on a DC 15 Fortitude save or be affected as though by a sleep spell. The save DC is Charisma-based and includes a +2 racial bonus.

Thanks in advance for any help!

Well, a sleep arrow (DC11) from DMG is 132gp. I'd say the higher DC and (powerful) amnesia ability make it at least a +2 weapon. Say 1500-2000gp?

My magic crafting-fu is weak, so someone else might give you a more accurate answer.

Why does everything in the game have to be for sale?

Wouldn't it seem reasonable that Pixies would not sell their arrows for any price?

Well, Pixies have an LA, so it's an established rules variant that they could be PC's. If they are PC's, then they need a price, so that:
a) other pixies can sell them to the PC, if needed.
b) the PC can sell them to other pixies, if needed.
c) the PC can make them, if needed.

Are you sure that Pixies use money and prices when crafting their arrows?

Are you sure that Pixies sell their arrows to other Pixies?

Are you sure that Pixes use money at all?

Just playing Devil's Advocate here, but the phrase "need a price" seems a bit campaign dependent and goes back to the question: Should there be items in the game that are typically not for sale?

"A Price" != Money.

Sure, they overlap in a lot of ways, but they aren't the same thing. If they are utterly free, then they quickly become overpowered (let's see... how many arrows per round can you build a Pixie at, say, ECL 10 to fire off? What's the cumulative probability of at least one nat-1 after one, two, three rounds? What's to prevent them from being handed off to allies for even more chances at a nat-1?). If they can't be re-made, then almost no pixie would ever use them (fundamentally irreplaceable), and few would take them out for other than ceremonial purposes. But the Monster Manual lists pixies as sometimes employing them.

So between the note that they are used, and the balance issues with them being free, there pretty much needs to be some middle ground. Whether that price is Gold, XP, a combination, or RP time gathering materials, it needs to be there.

Savage Species lists them as 607gp for the Pixie Memory Loss arrow (CL 11, Prereqs Modify Memory, CMA&A) and 107gp for the Pixie Sleep arrow (CL 1, Prereqs Sleep, CMA&A).

thats too cheap hyp. i'd tripple these prices at least. on the other hand i agree with the no price tag notion above so maybe simple not tagging them would be better.

The OP was asking what to charge for them and you used the word "sell" in two of your three examples.

I suspect neither he nor you were talking about XP or RP. How do you sell something for XP?
