pixie rogue, optimized for mischief!

First Post
So I'm dming a game, and my girlfriend, who has always been into faeries, wants to play a pixie rogue. I want to make sure she doesn't suck, cuz she'll get bored in game when the cavalier is doing x5 damage on a charge and she's doing nothing.

luckily, she's picked a good combo. the pixie gets greater invis, and she wants to throw daggers. because she's staying invisible, she gets her sneak attack on every hit, as long as she's within 30 feet. she's taken a decent con, so with spell resistance and damage reduct, plus the fly speed of 60, she shouldn't have to worry about getting caught up in the main combat crossfire.

again though, she's doing this for the flava. there is, as mentioned before, a paladin/cavalier with a standard issue stick up his ass, and we've got this fun idea about how she's gonna just follow him around and play harmless tricks on him, but also use her rogue abilities to help him. she'll be hidden for the first few sessions, so the rest of the party is going to be trying to figure out why all these weird things are happening around them.

So, on to my question. it is two headed.

1. how can i get as much sneak attack as possible on her, and make her as good as possible with her daggers and such? I'm looking into swashbuckler and the daring outlaw feat, but I'm not too experienced with rogue builds, so I don't really know how to go about it. dont' forget, she's got the LA+4, so there are only 16 levels to play with.

2. mischief!? she's got a good use magic device score, as well, so there's fun to be had. right now she's got a wand of color spray, she's also planning on getting a wand of glitterdust. colors! and glitter! do you see the theme? so she'll be this invisible rogue, flying around the battlefield making crazy things happen, but also tearing people up with daggers/sneak attack when they mess with her friends. any ideas for other mischief toys like wands, scrolls, or whatever you can think of?

thanks in advance.

3.5 pixie.

sorry, i should have been more specific, i didn't mention what edition i'm using. 3.5, core mostly, also the 'complete' series, and the 'races of' series. anything you want though, as long as its 3.5 and not pathfinder, i'm the dm so i'll know whether its kosher or not.

Going for fairy mischief...against a paladin/cavalier...hmmm...

Well, off the top of my head...
1) All of that clanking/clattering of all of that big heavy armor hurts the delicate faerie ears...and just sounds ugly. >:P Faerie's don't like ugly. PLUS it isn't exactly "inconspicuous" compared with the flying invisible rogue! Some "ghost sound" device (scroll, wand, necklace, whatever) to make his armor make..more pleasing (to the pixie) sounds...I'm thinking a cute squeaky noise like a dog toy...an illusion for flowers and butterflies to pop out of the joints of the armor as he walks by would be fun too. :D

2) You mention the cavalier charging...so he has a mount? Pixie's like animals. I imagine the cavalier would be so appreciative to wake up to find his noble steed with a mane and tail full of pretty braids, brightly colored ribbons and flowers...maybe some illusory coloring...like giving it pink polka dots....OO! OO! With Turquoise hooves..."Hey Sir Stickupisbut, looky the pretty horsey!"

3) Similar "decoration" to the cav's helmet...assuming he has one. Might not even notice, but the other characters might enjoy various outrageously sized and brightly colored plumes, banners, horns, crests, antennae, balloons, bouncy springs with glittery hearts or shamrocks or something on top...he'll look so niiiiice.

Gotta run, but sure I could come up with more stuff.
Enjoy.

4) The cavalier draws his weapon (presumably a sword of some kind) to find a bouquet of flowers attached to the hilt instead of a blade. This would probably be fantastically fun/funny for the pixie, but could be potentially hazardous for the cavalier (and the rest of the party) if this prank went off during an actual combat. It would be illusory, of course. But no doubt cause some initial panic for the fighter.

5) Any/all kinds of decorative things. Change his hair color. Give him a purple moustache. Paint hearts or stars or some kind of cutesy thing all over his armor and/or shield. This could be an illusion...or actual paint! Which then, of course, would probably involve hunting down and forcing the pixie to clean it.

6) Hit the cavalier with her glitterdust so he can be a pretty bright shining knight riding into battle...while a paladin might enjoy this and perhaps even frighten foes with his shining glittery might, the pixie would naturally choose to do this when he was trying to be stealthy/sneaking.

7) If arguments or threats ensue, "Pixie, if you mess with my horse one more time I'll split you in two!", I see no reason at all the pixie wouldn't glue the cav's sword into its scabbard. "Threaten ME will ya? Let's see you hurt me without your sword." (which would no doubt lead to a chase with the paladin attempting to throttle the lil' faerie neck.)

8) More on the mischief tip...there's always tripping him up when he dismounts...attempting to be the impressive mounted warrior, landing face first in the mud. Along the same lines...tie his cape/cloak (again assuming he has one) to his saddle. So he rides up...cavalierly (buh-dum-bump ;). Dismounts. Addresses the party with a manly-in-charge-paladinic speech. Struts from his mount only to be jerked back a few steps later.

9) Along the lines of above, regaling his cloak/cape/tabbard/tunic with bows or ribbons or other "pretty" things. And/or change the color of same tunic/tabbard mid-fight. Nothing strikes the fear of the gods into evil-doers like a paladin with the crest of his righteous deity emblazoned on his pastel/Easter colored clothing. Maybe unable to make up her mind (a la the end of "Sleeping Beauty" with the tunic changing round to round...pink!...nah, sky blue...no no, lavendar...maybe baby chick yellow...hmmm...I've always liked chartreuse...

10) Please express my sincere apologies to your cavalier should/when/if any of these suggestions actually befall him. :)

Sorry...last one...

Fly up under the mount while the cav's riding and unbuckle/loosen the saddle. A short trot later Sir Stickupisbut is sliding off the side of his horse. Same could be done with the bridle...or harness...so he's holding reigns that aren't attached/controlling anything.

This could potentially be very dangerous/damage causing if he's riding fast enough. But if just a prank while he's walking or trotting most likely would just be a couple of bruises mostly to the ego (but no actual in-game damage).

Ok. That's it from me. I promise.

LOL

The pixie is just created to cause mischief :P

Spell-Like Abilities: 1/day—lesser confusion (DC 14), dancing lights, detect chaos, detect good, detect evil, detect law, detect thoughts (DC 15), dispel magic, entangle (DC 14), permanent image (DC 19; visual and auditory elements only) Caster level 8th. The save DCs are Charisma-based.

You can use dancing lights to make a ghost-like humanoid shape. Make your girlfriend create a fake char. sheet, writing on top of that that she is a Ghost (see the template in MM) the fact that it too has +4 LA will make it believable :P This will make him believe he is hunted or something, and will sure make him confused (in and out of game :P ) Just don't let them attack the shape (it has 180ft range, so use this :P)

Detect thoughts useful to avoid been detected...in game, you can't ask the paladin what his character thinks...but when he is planning something-like paying someone to cast a spell to reveal the pixie, and the pixie notices something, it can save the whole thing...

Also, permanent image...having a big dark cloud hovering over the paladin (small thunders etc :P) will sure make him nervous. Ok it will not rain, but it isn't a good sign....at last for every peasant he meets...And you know what? She could hide in or over that cloud, and rain arrows or daggers to enemies...

As for class, why not rogue-scout, with Swift Ambusher feat? You will sacrifice 4 levels, but with 7 more rogue levels you will have +4d6 sneak attack +3d6 +3 AC skirmish. You can also get Improved Skirmish feat for +2d6 +2AC. And then you can use the 3 other feats to get into master thrower.... ^^ the only bad thing is that you don't get 2 weapon fighting....BUT if you go for 1 more level before Master Thrower, you can have Two weapon fighting from lvl 1...making your life much easier

Well that was just a thought :P

Edit: oh, and lots of scrolls of prestigitation... :P

you're a genius, steeldragon. many of these ideas will be used. the paladin appreciates your apologies.

as far as levels, it'll be mostly rogue, cuz she's into the huge skill points. at least 3 levels of swash, for the insightful strike. she's got a huge int bonus.

couldn't she be getting an extra sneak attack for the 16th level? isn't there a prestige class she could take that gets sneak attack at first level? not assassin, obvious, cuz no evil. there's gotta be something though, right? something that helps with the theme she's already got going?
