Pixies and age

Hi all,
in a new campaign I´m playing a pixie wizard/rogue. Does anyone of you know how old pixies can get? I want to know, mainly for roleplaying reasons, but also for possible aging effects.

Thanks,
Orm

According to the Complete Book of Humanoids, they have a base starting age of 5d6+100 years and a maximum age of 2d00+200.

They reach middle age at 100 (apparently, they start out middle aged), old age at 133, and venerable at 200.

Personally, I'd have their starting age be 5d6+10 years, not 100. Starting at middle age seems like a typo to me.

When the Pixies formed in 1986, they were all college-aged. It's been 18 years since then and Black Francis, Kim Deal, Joey Santiago and David Lovering are still alive, so I'd say they can get to at least their late 30s, though they're looking even older than that. Only time will tell how much older they can get. They still sounded great when I saw them reunited at Coachella last month, so I hope they'll stick around for awhile yet.

A guy in one of my campaigns is playing a Pixie, and is under the assumption that they don't die of old age. He stated his age is 600 years old.

I don't know where he got that information from, maybe Savage Species? I certainly wouldn't go by a 2nd edition book. Seems to me that fey shouldn't really get old. I think making them ageless is appropriate.

But sometime there time is over and they fade away. Now these little pixies can become how old before fading ?

I would say since they are very small they won't live for longer than 200 or 300 years. But that is just a guess, no facts here.

And to all DM's out there ... Beware of pixie rogues with there memory loss arrows and natural invisibility ! :)

My friend is a pixie rogue. The huge level adjustment really screws them. With a single fey hitdie which gets replaced by a rogue hitdie, he's looking at 6th level for +1 BAB, and at that time he'll get his second hitdie. If you ask me, that counterbalances a heck of a lot of stuff. And that's if you *don't* have otto's irresistible dance.

My pixie is now Wiz2/Rog1 with impressive 17hp at ECL 7. A "normal" wizard at that level wouldn't have much more. But you're right. It's not much. Either the pixie almost can't be hit, or it's dead in one blow. The only time I got really screwed was when fighting a young blue dragon, going from 12 to -9 in his line of lightning.
