I vaguely recall seeing a message board post or an interview or something like that from Monte where he said that he wasn't really interested in working on a new Planescape - he'd rather be working on stuff that's all his, and not updating the stuff he did seven years ago. Then again, now that he's weighed in on the thread, he could confirm or deny this, in case my memory's faulty.edbonny said:As I've been saying for years on this board (and years and years), give Planescape to Monte!

Because they are expensive and hard to find.Sebastian Francis said:Why does it need to be "back in print"? Just buy all the 2e stuff and use it.
That's where I am too. Out of the whole 2e settings barrage that TSR hit us with, I greatly preferred Planescape to any others (although Dark Sun was a nice one too) but it really kind of stands alone right now. It doesn't need more supplements, IMO, and after the passage of so much time, personnel and two shifts in edition, I'd be really surprised to see a Planescape book out there. And if there was one, I'd be even more surprised to see it really work, to be honest with you. I say let Malhavoc, Wizards and whomever else continue to do new stuff, not revisit older material. The older material is usable as is.sanishiver said:IWhat's more, it's too damn easy to convert the 2E stuff to 3.5, so why bother?
