Player looking to start a Core 4e game [recruiting players and DM]

Looks like we already have three bites, so four won't be too lofty a goal. I'll have the recruitment thread up in the morning.

BTW, I am on Eastern (US) time, but I tend to post at odd hours anyway, so I guess it doesn't matter a whole lot.

Yes, I have a DDI subscription. I have downloaded, but not used, the release version of the Character Builder. I guess I should get around to it eventually.

Solid. I was mainly asking because I figure once I was settled on a character I would send you the saved file from the Builder.

It's a pretty solid app, actually.

Wow. This is going a lot more smoothly than I thought it would. I think I'm just going to go the Fighter route (nice, simply, and I get to bash the hell out of things).

Exactly how do you guys handle character creation (Particularly the ability scores)?

BTW I'm on the East Coast too. I usually have computer access late at night or early in the morning. I have to fight over the computer to access during the afternoon.

Let's do the point buy method (22 pts) as detailed in the PHB. I believe it's Method #2.

Looks like we have a Leader and a Defender. We could use a Striker and either another Striker or another Defender to round it out. Maybe a Controller too.

I'm weighing my options between a rogue (which I play a lot) and a warlock (which I've not played before, thus it is very tempting), my third option that I'm thinking about is a wizard.

If I were to rank these options, they'd be as follows:

Warlock
Wizard
Rogue

Normally Rogue would be number one, but I'm playing a few of them right now and I'd like to try something that is more a 4e flavor, thus the Warlock.

Once I work through a couple more builds, I'll say for sure, but I'm 80% decided right now. :D

Addendum: Quick question, Insight, more of a confirmation, is your Point of Light a homebrew, Forgotten Realms, or something else? I only ask because of the potential need to select a background or not. Thanks.

Depending on how many folks we have in melee, I'll either go a human str cleric/eladrin tac warlord or a elven laser cleric

Leaning towards an eladrin tac lord with wizard multiclass if that helps you friadoc.

Okay, I've settled on a tiefling warlock (star pact), name of Iados (EH-ah-dos). More to come tomorrow, once the thread is opened. :D

Hey y'all,

If there's still space, I'd like to join.
Human wizard. I've been dying to try one out. Some say that the 4e wizards are uber-weak, and I want to give them a try.
ok?
Cheers,

SG
